LeCroy Corporation, the worldwide leader in protocol test solutions, today introduced a new analyzer synchronization option that enables complete end-to-end visibility into multi-protocol systems. LeCroy’s latest generation analyzer platforms can now be linked to provide time-aligned display of packet traffic from multiple high-speed serial protocols. Useful for testing systems that bridge data across different busses, this new capability leverages LeCroy's best-of-breed analysis software for fast multi-protocol problem resolution.
CrossSync uses the sync ports on LeCroy's newest analyzer platforms to synchronize time stamp information across multiple systems. The solution includes a compact software control panel that manages recording across daisy-chained analyzers. Captured traffic is displayed in separate windows that share a common time scale and can be scrolled synchronously. The Time Tune tab provides a real time slider for adjusting the off-set between displays making it easy to see latency across busses.

When using the CrossSync option, users can access the full complement of triggering and analysis capabilities available within the individual LeCroy software. It's easy to specify any analyzer as the trigger master. It's also possible to define separate trigger events that operate simultaneously on each of the daisy-chained systems. This ability to cross trigger on specific bus conditions on either side of a bridge chip helps users to identify command translation issues.

The flexibility afforded with CrossSync allows users to combine analyzers already in their labs to gain greater insight when confronting performance problems at the system level. said Michael Romm, VP of Product Development at LeCroy's Protocol Solutions Group. The CrossSync solution also preserves the familiar interface and workflow that users of LeCroy’s powerful protocol analysis software have enjoyed for years.

The CrossSync option supports a wide combination of LeCroy's flagship analyzers including PCI Express Gen 1, Gen 2 and Gen 3, USB 2.0 and 3.0, Serial ATA (SATA) 1.5, 3, and 6Gbps, Serial Attached SCSI 6Gbps, and Fibre Channel 1, 2, 4 and 8Gbps systems. The option is available at no cost for systems that are equipped with Sync ports. For systems that do not have the Sync port, the CrossSync option can be added at nominal cost by purchasing a field upgradable Sync card. The CrossSync option will be available in January 2011. LeCroy will demonstrate this new capability at their USB TechZone exhibit during CES 2011.
