Livingston Strengthens its Thermal Imaging Product Offering

Test equipment sourcing specialist Livingston has expanded its portfolio of infrared thermal imagers. These items of test hardware are becoming increasingly popular in a wide variety of industrial, electrical and building applications, allowing faults to be located, quality assurance to be carried out, or in-depth system analysis undertaken in order to improve overall efficiency.
As a result Livingston has engaged with the leading manufacturers in this field. This ensures that it has the most comprehensive range of thermal imaging devices for rental or longer term lease - presenting the customer base with a more cost effective way of gaining access to the latest models and enabling greater levels of flexibility.

Among the thermal imaging devices available from Livingston are:

• The Testo 875 thermal imager, which has an operational temperature range of -20 °C to +280 °C and an 160 x 120 resolution (19,200 pixels). This device is highly suited to finding leaks in heating systems or implementing electrical/mechanical thermal surveys. Its high thermal sensitivity of up to 80 mK allows small temperature differences to be distinguished. Among its features are an automatic hot spot recognition mechanism, a 9 Hz image refresh rate, a 32° x 23° lens and an integrated visible digital camera.

• Fluke’s TiR3FT FlexCam® thermal imager, which is targeted at building diagnostics applications and has a video output and a 180 ° articulating lens. It covers a -20 °C to +100 °C operational temperature range and has a 320 x 240 resolution (76,800 pixels), picture-in-picture (PiP) fusion capabilities, 2x digital zoom and a 60 Hz image refresh rate. The imager’s SmartFocus feature permits easy one finger continuous focussing.

• The i50, from FLIR Systems, which is a compact, lightweight, general purpose imaging device with a 3.5” format display, a high-powered illuminator, an integrated 2.3 Megapixel visible camera and built-in laser pointer. It has a 20 °C to 350 °C operational temperature range and a 140 x 140 resolution (19,600 pixels).

• The Fluke Ti25 thermal imager with integrated visible digital camera, which has a PiP function and the ability to automatically blend visual and thermal images together. IP54 rated, it has an operational temperature range of -20 °C to +350 °C and a ±2 °C temperature measurement accuracy. This model boasts of 640 x 480 resolution (326,400 pixels) and has a 9 Hz image refresh rate.

• FLIR’s B335, which has an operational temperature range of -20 °C to +120 °C, a 50 mK thermal sensitivity and a ± 2% temperature measurement accuracy. It also possesses a 320 x 240 resolution (76,800 pixels), a touch screen-based user interface, plus an integrated 3.1 Megapixel visible digital camera with PiP and 2x continuous digital zoom.

“Often thermal imaging equipment is only required for very short periods of time. As a result spending large amounts of money on acquiring it makes little sense financially speaking,” states Philippe Suel, Marketing Director for Livingston Group. “By sourcing this equipment from Livingston, companies can treat it as an operational rather than a capital expense. The equipment is not left redundant after the project it was required for has been completed, as it would be if it had been purchased, but can simply be returned. In this way the cost of utilising an item of equipment more accurately matches its practical use.”
