Data Translation announced the release of the DT8824-HV Ethernet data acquisition module, which is specially designed for measurement technology used in the development and testing of renewable energy systems. The instrument provides four high voltage differential inputs supporting input voltage ranges of ±600V.
Gains of 1, 8, 16 and 32 are individually programmable per channel. Separate 24-bit A/D converters and galvanic isolation for every input channel ensure that all signals are reliably protected; even in high-voltage noise environments. The module thus offers very high accuracy and stability for voltage measurements on high-performance batteries or inverters.

DC/DC converters and digital opto-couplers provide full channel-to-channel isolation of up to 1000V between the individual input channels. The inputs can be sampled simultaneously at a sampling frequency of up to 4.8kHz per channel. With 10ppm accuracy, a temperature coefficient of 0.05µV/°C and a common mode rejection >150dB, the module delivers data acquisition results that are about 20 times better than comparable measurements solutions.

Removable screw terminals on the module allow quick and easy signal connections. Four fully isolated digital outputs, designed as solid-state relays are provided in addition to the analog channels. The rugged steel enclosure makes the DT8824-HV ideally suited for use as a portable device or for mounting in a 19 rack. A built-in web interface allows configuring the input parameters and monitoring the measurements locally, or at remote sites, by using a standard web browser.

The data acquisition module ships with a comprehensive software package that is compatible with Windows 7 (32/64 Bit), XP and Vista. The package also includes IVI-COM drivers and .NET class libraries as well as an easy-to-use web-based application for viewing, logging and analyzing the measurement channels.
