Intepro Systems has announced the release of Cinergia’s B2C+ Bi-Directional DC Converter, which is set to transform DC test platform efficiency and flexibility.

This converter offers efficiency, multichannel flexibility, and high-resolution dynamics, making it an ideal solution for a variety of DC test platform applications.

“The B2C+ represents a significant leap forward in bi-directional DC converter technology,” said Joe Engler, President of Intepro Systems. “Its exceptional performance and versatility empower engineers to conduct comprehensive testing across diverse applications, including renewable energy sources, energy storage systems, smart grids, battery testing, electric vehicles, and more.”

The B2C+ has a combination of features:

  • Bi-directional and regenerative operation: the B2C+ can both source and sink power, allowing for efficient testing of devices that generate or consume DC power. Additionally, its regenerative capability returns excess power to the grid, minimising energy waste
  • Clean grid current: with a Total Harmonic Distortion (THDi) of less than 3% and a Power Factor (PF) exceeding 0.98, the B2C+ ensures minimal impact on the power grid
  • Multichannel configurability: the B2C+ is available in 13 models ranging from 7.5kW to 160kW, and it can be paralleled to increase total power output. Users can choose from 2-quadrant and 4-quadrant configurations to perfectly suit their testing needs.
  • Extensive functionality: The B2C+ supports various operating modes (CV, CC, CP, CR) for comprehensive device characterisation. It also offers optional functionalities like battery emulation, PV panel emulation, and a power amplifier mode for Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) applications
  • Intuitive user interface and open communication protocols: the B2C+ features a user-friendly interface that simplifies test setup and operation. It also supports Modbus/Ethernet open protocols and LabVIEW drivers for seamless integration into existing test environments
