KOA has introduced the RC Seriesof surface-mount test points, also known as "checker chips".

They allow customers to conveniently measure signals and voltages at various points on the PCB either during production or in the field.

Available in 4 sizes, 0603, 0805, 1206 low profile (1.25mm) and 1206 standard profile (2.0mm), the RS test terminals are compatible with reflow and wave solder processes making them easy to place alongside all the other components on the PCB.

The test points are constructed from stainless steel material for robustness and feature a tin-plated surface for soldering to the PCB whilst the inner surface is left as bare stainless steel to prevent wear during testing, furthermore the RCT (0805) and RCW (1206 stnd profile) series feature an additional stainless steel cap mounted on top of the test point for increased reliability and robustness in repeated testing applications.

The test points exhibit a low resistance of <50 mΩ, are rated at up to 2 A and have an operating temperature range from -55 °C to +125 °C.

The KOA RC Series of test points are suitable for a wide range of applications including instrumentation, control boards, utility metering, automotive, industrial machines, communication equipment and security panels to name just a few. They offer a convenient testing solution anywhere equipment is installed which requires service and maintenance over its lifetime.

The test points are in stock at distributor Anglia Components. Free samples are available.
