Automotive Ethernet test lab wins Rohde & Schwarz support
Test and measurement specialist Rohde & Schwarz has provided an Automotive Ethernet testing solution to the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL). From now on, OEMs, Tier 1s, Tier 2s, and System Integrators can submit their products for compliance test certification via UNH-IOL, the first OPEN Alliance accredited test lab providing test certification for Automotive Ethernet.
It will enable customers access to 100BASE-T1 and 1000BASE-T1 compliance testing, including physical layers (PHY) and electronic control units (ECU). The UNH-IOL is a state-of-the-art facility that allows member companies to access custom test equipment and software. Chipset manufacturers can test their 100/1000BASE-T1 products based on TC8 OPEN Alliance test specifications in a single laboratory.
The UNH-IOL, which has been involved with Automotive Ethernet testing since 2012, utilises an R&S RTO2044 oscilloscope and an R&S ZND vector network analyser for several automotive specific test services.
Curtis Donahue, Senior Manager of Automotive Ethernet Technologies at UNH-IOL, stated, “We are excited about the recent addition of the R&S RTO2044 oscilloscope and R&S ZND vector network analyser to our Automotive test bed. Our continued partnership with Rohde & Schwarz will help expand our testing services for 100/1000BASE-T1 solutions, for both silicon vendors and Tier1 automotive suppliers; as well as enable the IOL to offer test services for future Automotive Ethernet technologies, such as the 10BASE-T1S PHY which is currently being developed in the IEEE.”
