The latest version of Waveform Manager Plus, the arbitrary waveform creation and editing program from TTi, supports importing of waveforms created by other instruments such as oscilloscopes. The import function supports any waveform that can be described by a set of Y-axis data points, regardless of their format - which can be fixed point, floating point or exponent format, positive or negative, with any amplitude and resolution.
Any instrument or waveform generating program that can create a list of X/Y values can be accommodated regardless of the exact formatting. A common method would be to save the waveform as a .csv (comma separated variable) file and open it in Excel. The Y value common would then be saved to the clipboard, from which Waveform Manager would normalise it and import it as a waveform.

The new software is a highly flexible method for the creation of arbitrary generator waveforms from signals captured by instruments such as oscilloscopes and network analysers, or from software such as MathCad.

Waveform Manager Plus incorporates a complete suite of tools for waveform creation and editing including standard waveforms, mathematical expressions and freehand drawing. Virtually any waveform can be created using combinations of these tools.

Waveforms can be saved in a variety of file types including ASCII. All TTi products with an arbitrary waveform capability can be used with the program. Waveforms that were created mathematically retain their formulas, enabling them to be rapidly modified when they are re-used.

Connection to the arbitrary generator can be made using RS232, GPIB (IEEE-488) or USB ports. When used with TTi’s TGA12100 Series universal generators, waveforms can also be transferred using a flash memory cards.

Waveform Manager Plus is supplied as standard with all TGA series arbitrary generators. Alternatively it is available to be purchased separately.
