Anritsu - Next-Generation Field OTDRs Generation
Anritsu Company, a global provider of test and measurement solutions for advanced and converged networks, introduces its ACCESS Master MT9083C high-performance OTDR Series. The MT9083C series delivers the best optical performance in the 45 dB mini-OTDR class with industry-leading resolution and the fastest measurement distance acquisition for mid- to long-range (>40 km) networks, providing field personnel with a test solution to accurately and quickly test traditional and PON-based FTTx networks.
WithThe MT9083C can also help carriers and service providers reduce the cost to install and maintain traditional point-to-point optical networks. Not only does the MT9083C series feature up to 45 dB of dynamic range to measure ultra-long haul fiber spans of more than 200 km, it achieves industry-best measurement speed and produces deadzones of less than one meter to ensure complete fiber evaluation. The MT9083C can generate up to 150,000 data points so measurement results have superior fiber detail as well.
This high performance translates into significantly reduced testing times compared to other OTDRs on the market. For example, a 100 km/62 mile fiber can be tested in as little as six seconds with the MT9083C. Many fibers can be tested in real time without averaging, due to the high performance optics in the MT9083C.
While many OTDRs provide good resolution or high dynamic range, the MT9083C series features an exclusive, user-selectable, dual-circuit design that allows a single unit to excel in both categories, states Stephen Colangelo, Director of Marketing and Business Development for Anritsu Company. With the MT9083C, technicians have a single tool that can test any network type quicker and with greater detail, ensuring cost-effective, reliable network performance. The MT9083C series also makes measurements simple and virtually error-free with true one-button fault location, pass/fail classification, automated file saving and a macrobend detection feature for identifying installation issues. All the measurement functions and performance required for optical fiber construction and maintenance are designed into the compact, lightweight, all-in-one unit that eliminates the burden of carrying many different test sets and instruments on-site.
