High-power terminations incorporate forced-air cooling
Link Microtek's Engineering Division has introduced a range of rectangular-waveguide terminations that incorporate forced-air cooling as standard, enabling them to offer a higher power-handling capability than convection-cooled alternatives.
Ideal for the testing and maintenance of radar systems and other high-power microwave equipment, the AM-L4 'dummy' loads are designed to safely absorb microwave signals with a mean power in excess of 1kW.
TheyDesigned and manufactured at Link Microtek’s premises in the centre of Basingstoke, the terminations are fabricated as standard from light-weight Alochromed aluminium with a black satin paint finish. Internal elements are made from highly absorbent cast ceramic material, rated at up to 3000degC.
Available options for the AM-L4 terminations include temperature sensors to provide protection against overheating and power samplers to allow monitoring of microwave power levels.
