At productronica 2023, Keith Moore, CEO of Pickering Group, talks to Electronic Specifier’s Mick Elliott about the products the company has released at the show.

At the show, the company launched two new products designed to enhance testing capabilities – a 21-slot fully hybrid PXIe chassis and a single-slot PXIe embedded controller.

Alongside its newly released PXIe chassis and embedded controller, Pickering is also showcasing the following switching, simulation, and software products on stand 452 in Hall A1:

  • A PXI-based BMS (battery management system) test demo, which combines the multi-cell battery simulators with other switch & simulation modules to create a fully flexible BMS test system
  • Turnkey LXI microwave switch & signal routing subsystems – including a custom 12x12 LXI microwave switching matrix demo
  • Various PXI/PXIe switch & simulation solutions
  • LXI optical switch – MEMS dual 5x5 matrix plug-in module inside the scalable LXI chassis

Along with the switching & simulation products, also on show is the Switch Path Manager signal routing software, newly released Microwave Switch Design Tool, and cabling & connection solutions – including our Cable Design Tool.

Finally, Pickering is showcasing its newly-introduced high voltage surface mount reed relay, Series 219. Suitable for mixed signal semiconductor testers, medical equipment testing, EV (electric vehicle) charge point testing, and monitoring solar cell photovoltaic efficiency, Pickering’s new Series 219 high voltage SMD (surface mount device) reed relay can switch up to 1kV – and is the only surface mount high voltage relay available in the market in 2 Form A and 1 Form B packages. Pickering offers all contact configurations with three coil voltages, 3V, 5V, or 12V, and switch stand-off is up to 3kV in the 1 form A package, up to 2kV in the 1 form B package, and up to 1.5kV in the 2 form A package.
