Mouser Electronics at embedded world 2023
At embedded world 2023, Mark Burr-Lonnon, Senior V.P Global Sales and Services at Mouser Electronics talks to Electronic Specifier's Editor, Mick Elliott, about the disruptor sector and what to expect from Mouser in 2023.
Despite disruptions over the past couple of years due to the Covid pandemic and other supply side issues, Burr-Lonnon tells Elliott that 2023 has seen positive growth for Mouser.
“From a geographic standpoint, Europe is our fastest growing region for the last two years, this will be the third, and it looks like it will be the fastest growing this year.” Burr-Lonnon says. Germany is leading the growth and Brexit has had no effect on Mouser so far, Burr-Lonnon continues.
With the Americas being the second key growth region for Mouser, Elliot moved on to the company’s new distribution centre in Dallas and its addition to the company’s distribution capacities. “We’ve just broken ground on another new warehouse, so although this one has just finished we’ve just broken ground on a new one… we have a million square feet of warehouse right now, and when we open the other one in 2024 we’ll have another million square feet of warehouse.” Says Burr-Lonnon. Semiconductors, still suffering from supply shortages, are however, taking a turn, as more suppliers are, who last year were not supplying, commence.
Looking to the rise of ecommerce, Burr-Lonnon tells Elliott that 60% of Mouser’s dollars, 80% of their transactions, come over the web. This expansion aims to help position Mouser as one of the leading suppliers of semiconductors and electrical components.
