At embedded world 2023, Nebojša Matić CEO at MikroElektronika talks to Electronic Specifier's Editor, Mick Elliott, about the features of the NECTO studio and how they will benefit their customers.

Necto Studio is a productive cross-platform integrated developing environment provided by MikroElektronika and is available on Windows, Linux, and macOS. It includes C compilers, mikroSDK 2.0, package manager, and USB or WiFi Debugger capabilities with flexible licensing options. The development environment features intelligent code completion, auto-close brackets, and drag and drop visual elements.

Elliott dives into MikroElecktronika's new system, asking him for a rundown of the new updates to the system. "It's  a multi-language, multi-architecture IDE. And I am happy to announce two new things, which I believe we are the first in the world with." Says Matić. The CEO goes on to explain the use of AI - natural language processing - inside the NECTO, which can direclty find information from a PDF from a prompt, and they have 'closed the loop with a remote hardware' allowing them to fetch data from any remote boards in real time.

These two updates helps users to find their favourite Click Board library and working example through the Package Manager. Users will also be notified about new versions of installed packages, and easily update in one click.

Moving from version 2 to version 3, Matić tells Elliott the company looks towards standardisation, as mikroSDK 2.0 is open-source, and it’s natively supported in NECTO Studio, and time saving as a way to continue building it's customer base.
