At embedded world 2023, on the Digi-Key booth, Kristian McCann speaks with Sasha Wolloch, President at Raltron about Raltron’s global solutions for frequency management.

Raltron is a frequency components manufacturer. From simple tuning fork crystals to high stability oven controller crystal oscillators, Raltron offers the most comprehensive line of frequency management devices in the industry.

Its commitment to R&D has allowed the continuous creation of leading-edge crystal and oscillators devices and technologies for 40 years.

To satisfy the demands of the rapidly growing wireless applications markets Raltron has also positioned itself as a complete solution supplier, adding SAW devices and LTCC filters to its crystals and oscillators offering.

“Customers’ needs are essentially dictated by new applications that they are bringing to market. The same general parameters apply: higher frequency, smaller size and less power consumption,” explains Sasha Wolloch.

Raltron has two applications engineering teams, with several engineers in each. One in its Miami headquarters serving the US and European market. It has similar a similar team located in Shenzehen, China, serving China and some of the rest of Asia.

“The two teams are provided with state-of-the-art equipment… We are providing constant oscillator optimisation services for our customers,” says Wolloch.

Wolloch adds: “We work hand-in-hand with our customers.”

Applications and industries

Essentially, Raltron is seeing a lot of interest from the IoT applications: “We’re a little bit newer in this field and we are pursuing it quite aggressively, and the market is responding with interest to our efforts,”

Raltron has made serious capital investment in growing its R&D and manufacturing capabilities for precision oscillators in Florida and Miami.

“We are certainly on a growth trajectory. Not only because of the products we have and continue to introduce, but also because of improvements in our sales networks and in greater participation at trade shows, advertising with specific media and the addition of Digi-Key as a main distribution channel of our products,” explains Wolloch.

“We hope that this will continue. Right now, the market is a little bit soft. Once this inventory is absorbed, we expect the market to rebound, and we want to be there to participate,” Wolloch concludes.
