Digi-Key at electronica 2022 with Rohm Semiconductor
At electronica 2022, on the Digi-Key booth, Caroline Hayes speaks with Michael Maurer, Senior Application Marketing Manager at ROHM Semiconductor about QuiCur and Nano Cap technologies / BD9S402MUF-C.
ROHM designs and manufactgures inregrated circuits, semiconductors and other electrical components. It has been contributing to the advancement of culture through the supply of its products and manufacturing.
At electronica 2022, ROHM experts presented its cutting-edge solutions for the key technologies of our time, revolving around energy-saving, miniaturisation, functional safety, innovation and sustainability. "This year, we can see a lot of sustainability and topics regarding green energy," explained Maurer. "We are moving into a green world."
Under its statement 'Electronics for the Future' ROHM will demonstrate with multimedia installations and how it solves social, ecological challenges through its quality technology.
QuiCur
ROHM established QuiCur, a power supply technology that improves the load transient response characteristics or DC/DC converter ICs and LDOs. By integrating QuiCur technology, a suitable power supply can be achieved without the error amplifier becoming unstable and potentially taking the entire converter loop with it.
"We are splitting up the error amplifier into slow path and fast path. This gives us the opportunity to change the error amplifier in such a way that you can reduce in a greener way the request of external capacitors on such regulators," explained Maurer.
BD9S402MUF-C
The is the first product in the roadmap, BD9S402MUF-C is a synchronous buck DC/DC converter with built-in low ON resistor power MOSFETs. It can provide current up to 4A. Maurer covers the suitable applications.
Nano Cap
Nano Cap technology ensures stable control of power supply circuits in the automotive and industrial fields, even with ultra-small capacitances in the magnitude of nF. The increased awareness for sustainable energy consumption has led to greater electrificfation in a variety of applications.
