At electronica 2022, on the Digi-Key booth, Paige West speaks with Andy Ross, Senior Product Manager, Laird Connectivity about the company's Wi-Fi product solutions.

Laird Connectivity simplify wireless connectivity with innovative IoT solutions and world class customer support. Its culture creates a fast moving, stimulating, flexible work environment for all our employees. Together Laird is innovating wireless for a connected world.

"We produce modules that include Bluetooth and Wi-Fi combo modules, purely Bluetooth modules, and we also do some loRa products as well.

"We have an IoT product range, which is a package product range that includes gateways and sensors that utilise the same technologies we have in our modules, along with cellular products as well.

And we have an antenna group that produces embeddable antennas. So not the big rubber duck things, very small form factor stuff that generally would go inside an enclosure. And as an accompaniment to that we also have both a design services group and a certification group for regulatory compliance and RF testing," explained Ross.

Wi-Fi solutions

Laird Connectivity has been supplying Wi-Fi for a long time and has a broad product portfolio. The current product range includes Wi-Fi 4 and 5 solutions, with multiple options in terms of antenna, security and host interfaces. Ranging from 1mm x 1mm which provides low power through high performance, SDI to PCIe Spy Interfact products, industrial temperature range products, and its own design and test servives.

In the industrial space Laird has products based around sensor applications.
