OMNIVISION announce OX01J image sensor for surround and rear-view cameras
OMNIVISION has announced the release of its latest 1.3-megapixel (MP) OX01J image sensor. This new sensor is specifically designed for use in automotive 360-degree surround-view systems (SVS) and rear-view cameras (RVC).
The OX01J is a raw image sensor that stands out with its exceptional LED flicker mitigation (LFM) and a high dynamic range (HDR) of 140db. This release offers automotive Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) the flexibility to only purchase the image sensor if they have an existing backend image signal processor (ISP) architecture.
Paul Wu, Head of Automotive Product Marketing at OMNIVISION, stated: "Following the successful launch and market reception of our OX01E20 SoC a year ago, which was designed to provide superior LFM, HDR, and low-light performance, we are now introducing the OX01J. This new product offers the same high performance as the OX01E20 SoC, but as a raw sensor option, providing our customers with more choice depending on their system architecture."
The OX01J sets a new standard in its category for imaging performance, suitable for SVS and RVC in various challenging lighting conditions. It boasts a compact design, minimal power consumption, and features a 3-micron (µm) pixel in a 1/3.55-inch optical format, delivering industry-leading low-light performance and ultra-low power usage. The sensor is packaged in an a-CSP format, ensuring the smallest possible solution footprint. It is constructed using OMNIVISION's acclaimed PureCelPlus architecture, which is known for its exceptional low-light sensitivity and leading signal-to-noise ratio performance in the industry.
