The MEMS & Sensors Executive Congress (MSEC 2023) at the WIGWAM Resort in Phoenix, Arizona, begins its proceedings today, shining a light on the latest sensorisation trends and their transformative impact on key growth sectors.

These sectors encompass automotive, biomedical, MEMS healthcare, artificial intelligence, generative AI, the Metaverse, positioning, navigation and timing (PNT), alongside the infrastructure of sustainable smart cities. The event, spanning from 6th to 8th November and themed 'Sensorising our world – driving global solutions,' is now welcoming attendees to this pioneering summit.

The event, hosted by the MEMS & Sensors Industry Group (MSIG), a SEMI technology community, initiates with an outdoor luncheon, proceeds with a tour of EVG’s leading-edge MEMS tools and processing facilities, a poster session, and a presentation by Arizona State University Knowledge Enterprise Corporate Innovation Labs and faculty on the opportunities for MEMS and sensor innovation within Arizona's dynamic Silicon Desert.

Dr. Tim Brosnihan, Executive Director of SEMI MSIG, shared his enthusiasm: "We are thrilled that key industry figures will deliver insights into the recent advancements in MEMS in the automotive sector, biomedicine and healthcare, and the rapidly-evolving areas of generative AI and the Metaverse. These leaders are at the forefront of driving innovations for environmentally sustainable cities, the next era of space exploration, and the nascent quantum sensors sector. We eagerly anticipate their analysis on the industry’s direction and the investment landscape for MEMS and sensors."

The congress also features an interactive team-building event titled 'Rolling Together,' where participants will assemble bicycles for donation to a local children’s charity.

The session agenda for MSEC 2023 encompasses:

  • Keynote presentations from thought leaders at Emerge, Qualcomm, and Kennedy Space Center.
  • A showdown of medical sensors and applications.
  • Discussions on the latest MEMS and sensors market and business trends.
  • In-depth exploration of AI, generative AI, and the Metaverse.
  • Progress in positioning, navigation, and timing technologies.
  • Examination of advanced and novel sensor applications.

The event recognises the following sponsors for their invaluable support:

  • EVG as the platinum sponsor.
  • Infineon, awarded the gold sponsorship.
  • Bronze acknowledgements to Evatec, KLA, Lam Research, and X-FAB.
  • Contributions from Bosch, NXP, PNI, Rogue Valley Microdevices, SUSS MicroTec, Team NEO, Teledyne Technologies, and ULVAC Technologies as event sponsors.
