Mouser ships Melexis magnetic position sensor
In stock at authorised distributor Mouser Electronics is the MLX90427 Triaxis magnetic position sensor from Melexis.
The magnetic position sensor ICs consist of a Hall magnetic front end, an analogue-to-digital signal conditioner, a DSP for advanced signal processing, and an output stage driver.
These ICs are sensitive to three (BX, BY, and BZ) flux density components applied to the IC. This allows the MLX90427 to sense any magnet moving in its surroundings and decode its position through appropriate signal processing.
Using a serial interface, the MLX90427 transmits a digital output (SP – 64 bits per frame).
The MLX90427 is well suited for embedded position sensor applications requiring high functional safety levels.
Next to offering customer stray field immunity and EMC robustness, the cost-effective MLX90427 features an SPI output with four distinct modes.
It includes a rotary, joystick, and rotary stray field with internal angle computation alongside one mode for raw data output.
The part is Grade 0 AEC-Q100 qualified and can be considered an ISO26262 ASIL C SEooC (safety element out-of-context) in systems up to ASIL D.
Applications for the MLX90427 include absolute contactless position sensing, steering wheel position sensing, and 3D joystick position sensing.
