Pressure transducers for demanding industrial applications
Measurement Specialties has today announced the introduction of two new compact, high-performance units for demanding industrial applications, the M7100 and U7100. Featuring high reliability at a low price point, the new IP67-rated pressure transducers withstand high vibrations as well as harsh conditions, such as dust particles, contaminated water and corrosive fluids.
Ideal for use in demanding engine, vehicle and industrial applications, the compact size of the M7100 and U7100 is suitable for many modern on-highway and off-highway engines, HVAC controls and energy and water management equipment.
Having eliminated wire bonds and using only one PCB as well as only a few components, the M7100 and U7100 pressure transducers are designed with high reliability in mind. Featuring an output voltage of 0.5 Vdc to 4.5 Vdc, the total error band is 1% over a -40°C to +125°C operating temperature range.
Featuring a pressure cavity machined from a solid piece of 17-4 PH stainless steel, the M7100 comes standard with a 1/4 NPT pipe thread for a leak-proof, sealed system, with other port sizes available. The sensor features a pressure range from 200 psig to 10,000 psig and uses the company’s Microfused silicon strain gage for exceptional sensing characteristics.
Offering exceptional durability with a variety of leak-proof, all-metal pressure connections, the U7100 is constructed of 316L stainless steel and handles a lower pressure range from 15 psig to 150 psig for more precise applications. The unit integrates Measurement Specialties’ proprietary UltraStable technology for excellent performance and long-term stability over wide temperatures.
Featuring stainless steel hermetic pressure ports, the M7100 and U7100 sensors protect the integrity of the internal components. In order to further enhance long-term durability, no internal O-rings or welds are used. Customisable for high volume applications, the new sensors are water resistant to 1 metre.
Pricing for the M7100 is $22 (USD) and the U7100 is $28 (USD) per unit in quantities of 10,000. Delivery time is dependent upon quantity ordered.
