Low divergence VCSELs enhance lidar and laser sensor performance
LASER COMPONENTS is pleased to share the latest updates on our low divergence Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Lasers (VCSELs). In collaboration with our partners at Brightlaser, we offer compact VCSEL modules that deliver exceptional performance and reliability, setting a new standard in laser technology for Lidar and laser sensors.
Key benefits of low divergence VCSELs
Designed for high performance, these low divergence VCSELs maintain power over long distances, enhancing Lidar systems' ability to detect objects at extended ranges with greater precision. The focused beam and narrow divergence angle result in a smaller beam spot, leading to finer spatial resolution and more detailed 3D mapping—critical for accurate object recognition and mapping applications.
One of the standout features of these VCSELs is their symmetrical beam, which reduces the need for additional optics, improving system accuracy and efficiency. The rapid modulation capability of the VCSELs allows for faster scanning speeds, resulting in a more dynamic and responsive signal, which is crucial for high-speed applications.
Compact design and versatile wavelength options
The compact design of these VCSELs—measuring just 6.8mm x 6.8mm x 10mm—makes them easy to integrate into a wide range of systems, enhancing adaptability and flexibility. They are available in various wavelength options, including 808nm, 850nm, 940nm, and 1050nm, catering to specific application requirements.
The VCSELs offer a Field of View (FOV) of 120 degrees x 6-8 degrees, providing ample coverage for effective sensing across diverse scenarios. This broad FOV enhances detection capabilities in complex environments, making these VCSELs ideal for advanced Lidar and laser sensor systems.
