Silicon Labs Introduces Any-Rate, Any-Output Clock Generator
Silicon Laboratories has introduced a family of clock generators and buffers that provide the most frequency flexibility in the industry. Based on Silicon Labs’ breakthrough MultiSynth technology, the Si5338 is capable of synthesizing any frequency from 0.16 to 350 MHz and select frequencies to 700 MHz on each of the device’s four differential outputs, dramatically simplifying timing architectures by replacing four discrete phase-locked loop...
Avago Expands Family of Amplifiers with New High Gain High Linearity Balanced Amplifier Module
Avago Technologies has announced a new low-noise, high gain and high linearity balanced amplifier module for use in tower mounted amplifiers, low-noise amplifier (LNA) modules and cellular base station applications.
Rittal’s MicroTCA shrinks control systems
Rittal has launched a genuine 2U system, the “pre-shrunk” PicoTCA. Available virtually from stock the PicoTCA is equipped with a 350W power supply with power management, a fully compliant backplane and mechanics, which allow the accommodation of up to 9 full size AMCs or 6 Full size and 6 Half size AMCs, and push-pull cassette fan trays with a filter on the air inlet.
TI introduces industry’s first autofocus driver in ultra-thin packaging for compact camera modules
Texas Instruments Incorporated today introduced the industry’s first auto focus voice coil driver with both pulse width modulation (PWM) and linear current regulation support. The DRV201 provides designers the flexibility to select the PWM or linear regulation for compact cameras, smartphones and mobile devices. PWM current regulation is up to 75-percent more power-efficient than traditional designs using linear mode.
DSPs Said to Deliver More Than 2.5X Price/Performance Improvement for Telecom and Networked DSP Applications
Texas Instruments has announced the immediate availability of samples of two new digital signal processors (DSPs) - the TMS320C6424 DSP and the TMS320C6421 DSP - that deliver more than 2.5X price/performance improvement, helping OEMs lower overall cost per channel of telecom enterprise gateway and IP-PBX products. Additional applications that are well-suited for the C642x DSPs include printers, scanners, copiers and wireless applications such as ...
Texas Instruments new 4-GHz quadrature modulator
Texas Instruments has announced a high-linearity, ultra-low noise quadrature (IQ) modulator that delivers RF output transmission up to 4 GHz, allowing service providers to easily support multiple wireless communications standards on a single RF transceiver card. TI’s TRF370317 IQ modulator is a direct launch RF transmitter device that offers basestation equipment manufacturers improved linearity and higher output power, which can improve ov...
TI's dual-output, multi-phase Fusion Digital Power controller provides intelligent PoL design
Expanding the company’s line of Fusion Digital Power controllers, Texas Instruments has introduced a new dual-output, multi-phase synchronous buck controller that can support various point-of-load configurations.
PCI Express Gen2 Standards-Based Timing Solutions from IDT
IDT has announced optimized PCIe Gen2-based timing solutions designed as companions to the industry leading IDT portfolio of PCIe-based switching solutions. The IDT 9FG104D generator can be driven with either a 14.318MHz or 25 MHz crystal to provide four PCIe Gen2 reference clocks. An eight output version (9FG108D) is available for larger applications such as servers. Both devices are not only Gen2 compliant, but are backward compatible to the ...
