Protecting factory electrical enclosures from summer heat
The threats that make enclosure thermal management necessary to begin with reach the height of their destructive energies all at once, once a year, in the summertime. While some logistics of manufacturing become vastly less complicated in the summer sun, several interrelated changes in the weather threaten the critical electronics that allow production lines to operate. Lead times cut on MLCCs
Reduced lead times for its MLCCs have been announced by Vishay Intertechnology. Excluding transit, Vishay's MLCCs are now available with leads times as low as in the mid 10-weeks range for Military / Hi-Rel and RF / Hi-Frequency MLCCs.
MIL wet tantalum capacitors qualified to Level P
Exxelia has received the P-Level qualification approval for its Wet Tantalum Capacitors MIL-PRF-39006/22. Exxelia’s MIL 39006/22 equivalent to CLR79 series is now approved to P-level reliability (0,1% / 1,000 h) for voltage ranges from 6V to 125V with a capacitance value ranging from 1,7μF to 1200μF.
Digitisers help advance fusion research
Fusion has long been viewed as the ultimate goal for energy generation. Smashing together deuterium and tritium atoms releases energy as they combine and is the reaction at the heart of the sun.
Capacitors target inverter solar market
New Yorker Electronics is distributing the American Shizuki Capacitors (ASC) MEC-DL Low Profile DC Filter/Link Capacitor line of Film Capacitors. Designed primarily for PCB board mounting, they are ideal for frequency converters, micro inverters and DC filtering applications.
Long field life 48V 480W DIN rail power supply
TDK Corporation has announced the introduction of a 48V 480W output model to the economically priced DRB series of 15 to 480W DIN rail mount power supplies. The product’s narrow 84mm width provides additional space for other DIN rail modules, or the use of a smaller enclosure.
Programmable power supplies with 95% efficiency
Industrial power solutions manufacturer, Powerstax, can now supply the upgraded range of Magna-Power SL Series 1U programmable DC power supplies. Now offering up to 95% efficiency and carrying a Nationally Recognised Testing Laboratory (NRTL) safety listing the SL Series is comprised of 99 different models.
Switching regulator with wide voltage for automotive applications
The STMicroelectronicsA7987automotive switching regulator has a wide input-voltage range that allows use in trucks and buses, and an adjustable output voltage that ensures flexibility and stable performance to power the numerous voltage rails in automotive applications such as body infotainment and telematics.
Less is more: Sizing up micro-electronic moulding trends
Every computer, audio device, smart phone, digital camera requires plastic housings, circuit boards and wiring to function. And as electrical, communication and information devices shrink and get lighter, so too does the size of the components contained inside. By Nigel Flowers, Managing Director, Sumitomo (SHI) Demag UK
Ultra-low current consumption LDO regulators
Torex Semiconductor has launched the XC6237 as a new series of LDO regulator featuring ultra-low current consumption, available in small and thin packages, suitable for IoT devices and wearable devices. The XC6237 series is a CMOS process high-speed LDO regulator IC that achieves low current consumption, high accuracy, and high ripple rejection.
