Partnership aims to develop & design ASIC solutions
A strategic partnership focusing on PROFINET technolies has been struck by Molex and Innovasic. The partnership has seen Molex and Innovasic design and produce ASIC solutions for industrial networking backed up by high levels of expertise and application support.
Smart grid substation enables IEC 61850-compliant solutions
As a result of smart grid substation automation deployments adopting Ethernet-based industrial networking, TI have announced a low-cost substation automation solution in collaboration with Triangle MicroWorks.
CST MWS reduces multi-level package design times
CST MICROWAVE STUDIO (CST MWS) is a full-wave 3D simulation tool that includes System Assembly and Modeling (SAM), which allows simulations to be linked and cascaded, so that the system can be considered as the sum of its parts.
DC/DC controller dramatically reduces switching jitter
Using a DC Resistance (DCR) sensing architecture that enhances the signal-to-noise ratio of the current sense signal, the LTC3875 enables the use of very low DCR power inductors. The dual output current-mode synchronous step-down DC/DC controller from Linear Technology operates over an input voltage range of 4.5-38V and produces a fixed output voltage from 0.6-3.5V with ±0.5% accuracy.
Step-down slave controller generates up to 300A
Designed for applications including power distribution, redundant (n+1) supplies, industrial systems, DSP and ASIC power, the LTC3874 is a dual phase synchronous step-down slave controller from Linear Technology. When paired with a companion master controller, it is capable of generating currents up to 300A by extending the phase count in multiphase applications.
Critical AFE IP block converts current to voltage
Designed as a silicon IP module to be integrated with additional circuitry unique to the customer’s application needs, the SCi310critical Analog Front End IP block has been intoduced by JVD. It is suitable for conditioning signals from sensors where the generic information about the phenomenon being detected, whether light or other physical or chemical or electromechanical apparatus, passes the first electrical conversion as a current.
Broader range for diverse applications
The proliferation of low-cost FPGAs now enable broader markets to benefit from MIPI DSI Displays and Application Processors. By Ted Marena, Director of Solutions Marketing, Business Development, Partner Solutions & IP, Lattice Semiconductor.
USB 3.0 controller enables HD video capture
AVerMedia Technologies has selected Cypress’s EZ-USB FX3 USB 3.0 controller for its HD video capture card, the ExtremeCap U3. The card leverages the EZ-USB FX3 as a USB 3.0 device bridge with bandwidth of 5 Gbps, enabling it to record and stream game play at Full-HD resolution (1920 x 1080) and 60 fps via HDMI or other component inputs, without requiring compression that degrades image quality.
Controller delivers 1% output accuracy & simplifies designs
Supporting POL supplies up to 35A, the XRP6141 Synchronous Step Down Controller signals an expansion of Exar's line of DC-DC power conversion products. The controller is designed to achieve excellent transient response and output accuracy using the company's proprietary emulated current mode COT control loop.
Devices' occupy 70% smaller footprint than FPGAs
Designed to allow designers to reduce the number of gigabit serial links required for a range of end equipment, TI's pair of 10-Gbps serial link aggregator ICs are claimed to be an industry first. The TLK10081 1- to 8-channel and TLK10022 dual-channel ICs aggregate and de-aggregate point-to-point serial data streams for transmission over backplanes, copper cables and optical links.
