'Industry's first' PMICs for smart TVs & set-top boxes
Dialog Semiconductor is entering the smart TV and Set-Top Box (STB) market with a family of highly integrated PMICs that leverage its power management leadership in smartphones and tablet computing. Dialog is currently sampling three PMICs to major OEMs for low to high-end smart TVs. The devices were developed in partnership with TV SoC vendors and have been proven in several reference designs.
Commercial drone sales set to rise more than 80% this year
A new study from Juniper Research has found that annual revenues from commercial drones sales are expected to reach $481m this year, up by 84% on last year’s figure of $261m. Drones: Consumer & Commercial Applications, Regulations & Opportunities 2015-2020 found that a low price point had significantly reduced the barrier to entry in many sectors, with high performance models now available for less than $3,000.

Chinese drone maker Ehang has unveiled what it claims is the world's first autonomous helicopter drone.The Ehang 184 is a 440-pound, eight-rotor aircraft which the company claims is able to lift a single person 500 metres into the air and fly them to any point on Google Maps, avoiding objects automatically and safely handling take-off and landing (as long as it can be reached within the 23 minutes battery limit).
