The SRAM is capable of realising the real-time image processing capabilities necessary for future autonomous-driving vehicle technologies.
Ushering in the autonomous driving era
Renesas Electronics has unveiled the third generation R-Car, an automotive computing platform solution for driving safety support systems and in-vehicle infotainment systems. The new R-Car H3 System-on-Chip (SoC), the first member of the third generation R-Car, delivers CPU performance, image recognition processing, ISO 26262 (ASIL-B) compliance, and a system in package (SiP) with external memory to enable a range of automotive applications.

Renesas Electronics Europe has announced it is expanding development support for touch-based home appliance, building, industrial automation and portable medical applications with the RX130 Group of 32-bit MCUs. The new Group allows embedded developers to incorporate both user interface (i.e., touch key) and system control capabilities in a single MCU.
Secure connectivity solution supports web access
Renesas Electronics Europe has announced the availability of a secure connectivity solution for industrial automation applications that supports secure web access using standard internet protocols over a PROFINET communication. A demo of the solution will be showcased during the SPS IPC Drives fair in Nuremberg (24th-26th Nov) at the Renesas stand 445 in Hall 6.
Semiconductor predictions for 2016
The December forecast from Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI), revealed that shipments of semiconductor wafer fab equipment are expected to grow 2.5% in 2016 after 0.5% growth in 2015. However, Gartner is more pessimistic, with its October forecast calling for fab equipment to decline 0.5% in 2015 and drop 2.5% in 2016. Gartner projects the market will return to growth in 2017 through 2019.
