UV cure adhesive eliminates slider warpage
An ultra-low stress, lower glass transition temperature version of the 535-10M-1 UV cure adhesive, Engineered Material Systems has announced the 535-11M-3. The UV cured epoxy was developed to meet the rigorous reliability requirements of disk drive, camera module, photonics and circuit assembly applications.
Smart lighting manager enables constant lux levels
ams has introduced what it claims to be the industry’s first integrated chip-scale IoT-connected smart lighting manager. The AS721x Autonomous Daylighting Manager integrates photopic sensors to sense the ambient daylight and enable the delivery of constant lux levels by managing subtle adjustments as the amount of outside light varies.
Production plant for PbS & PbSe detectors opened
LASER COMPONENTS Detector Group has opened a development division and production plant for PbS and PbSe detectors, expanding its R&D and production capabilities. Following preliminary testing by selected customers, the company's PbS/PbSe detectors have been approved, with production starting immediately.
Plasma processing workshops held
Plasma-Therm has recently presented advanced plasma processing workshops at Arizona State University (ASU) and the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel. Presentation topics ranged from the fundamentals of plasma processing to the advanced etching and deposition technologies used in semiconductor device fabrication, materials science and nanotechnology research.
LED source provides sensor with self-absorption correction
Designed for optical power measurement, the 3A-IS Optical Power Sensor and AUX-LED Self-Absorption Accessory have been released by Ophir Photonics. The 3A-IS is an integrated sphere and photodiode sensor system which can measure the optical power of divergent, narrowband light sources from 350 to 1100nm, such as lasers and LEDs. The AUX-LED is a current regulated LED source which corrects the effects of self-absorption.
MACOM completes acquisition of BinOptics
M/A-COM Technology Solutions has successfully completed the acquisition of BinOptics, a provider of indium phosphide lasers for data centres, mobile backhaul, silicon photonics and access networks.
Laser power sensor eliminates contamination & corrosion
Expanding the company's line of high damage threshold laser power sensors, Ophir Photonics announced the 1000WP-BB-34 High Power Water Cooled Thermal Sensor. All materials that come in contact with the cooling water are either copper or nonmetallic, eliminating the possibility of contaminating the water or corroding the sensor, improving the accuracy and reliability of the measurements.
Monitor focusses on high-power laser accuracy
Ophir Photonics has announced BeamWatch 1.2, the latest version of the non-contact, focus spot size and position monitor for very high power YAG and fibre lasers. Designed for material processing applications, BeamWatch features a higher sensitivity camera that allows for increased accuracy at lower power levels.
Mini spectrometer module targets inline testing
The latest offering from Hamamatsu Photonics in its range of miniature spectrometers is the C11697MB; a high-sensitivity, trigger-compatible VIS-NIR mini-spectrometer module. The new module is ideal for inline testing applications and measurement of pulsed light emission due to the high sensitivity offered by the new S11639 CMOS linear image sensor housed inside.
CMOS sensors deliver improved performance v cost
Two new compact CMOS linear image sensors are designed in a small surface mount package and are ideal for mass production and numerous applications including barcode readers, displacement meters, refractometers, interferometers and miniature spectrometers. Hamamatsu Photonics says the S10226-10 and S10227-10 sensors offer much improved performance vs. cost.
