3D print materials ranging from PLA to chocolate
A crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.com for a foldable 3D printer that can print a variety of materials has been launched by the Maastricht start up, By Flow. Offered with a wide range of easily exchangeable extruders, the Focus can print with standard materials, including as PLA, ABS, wood and nylon, but also with bio-rubber, bronze, ceramics and silicon. The printer can also print edible materials, such as chocolate.
Soft starters extend electric motor life
A new range of economical soft starters has been introduced by DeltaSense. The UL approved units from Eltwin cover a wide range of motor ratings from 0.1kW to as high as 110kW. Start and stop ramp times and initial torque are adjustable by the user, and there is also an optional high torque kick start function.

Motiv8 has stirred the pot for its two upcoming free technical forums for engineers in June attracting companies to the forums including ISSI and MobileMark Antenna Solutions. The forums covering RF and Wireless and LED and Lighting will take place at the Williams F1 Conference Centre at Grove, near Oxford on June 16 and at the Emirates Old Trafford (pictured), Manchester on June 18.
