DAQ SoCs improve smart grid monitoring & protection
Analog Devices has introduced a 24-bit Data AcQuisition (DAQ) SoC series designed to improve the performance of protection, monitoring, and power quality measurement equipment used to manage transmission and distribution of energy within smart grids. All three devices in the AD777x series offer the industry’s best combination of dynamic range and data throughput and feature eight simultaneous sampling channels that measure the output from c...
Silicon-controlled rectifiers improve reliability
High-temperature Silicon-Controlled Rectifiers (SCRs) from STMicroelectronics allow manufacturers of voltage regulators, inrush current limiters for switch-mode power supplies, motor-control circuits, and industrial solid-state relays to improve the reliability of their applications or reduce costs by using smaller heatsinks.
Twisted pair transceivers offer smart building efficiency
ON Semiconductor has introducedthree KNX certified twisted pair transceiversfor smart building applications. The devices allow small, low-cost external components, while delivering increased regulator current and boosting overall efficiency by up to 20% compared to existing solutions.TheNCN5110,NCN5121andNCN5130integrate two high-efficiency DC/DC converters and a 20V LDO regulator for powering external loads from the bus.
productronica will see the launch of new switching solutions
Pickering Interfaces will be showcasing their latest PXI, PCI & LXI switching and simulation solutions at productronica, Munich, Germany 10th to 13th Novermber. These new products include the PXI 5Amp Solid-State Multiplexer. This range of PXI multiplexers uses solid-state relays with high tolerance to surge currents and hot switching events. Each multiplexer provides an isolation relay in the common to minimise capacitive loading when expand...
Munich launch for aerosol circuit cleaners
Three new aerosol-packaged circuit cleaners will be introduced by MicroCare Europe at the productronica exhibition in Munich (November 10-13). These products use novel chemical formulations not previously on the market to help companies lower their PCB cleaning costs, improve product quality and meet ever-more stringent regulatory obligations.
Extruded aluminium enclosure provides security in style
Bud Industries has introduced the DMX series DIN-rail-mounting enclosure, an attractive, easy-to-mount, NEMA-4X/IP-66 rated enclosure made of extruded aluminium and plastic endcaps. It holds up to three PCBs and it may be used independently or easily mounted on a standard 35mm DIN rail.
High voltage relays available for up to 10kV
Pickering Electronics have expanded their reed relay range to include the series 67 and 68, suitable for high voltage applications. The relays are available for up to 10kV stand-off and switching up to 7.5kV, with an option of either PCB or flying lead switch connections. The relays are suitable for high voltage transformer and cable test and some electro-medical applications such as defibrillators.
S-HV series single in-line high voltage reed relay that is smaller
Standex-Meder Electronics has announced a recently improved moulded S-HV series single in-line high voltage reed relay that is smaller and more compact. It features an internal magnetic shield that is suitable for a high density board assembly. Having a high-breakdown (hold off) voltage of 4kVDC and atypical contact resistance of 70mΩ allows for the best condition for high voltage test and measurement applications.
Global electrical manufacturing exhibition opens in Turkey
Following the success of its shows in Berlin, Chicago and Shanghai, the CWIEME brand is now adding a new exhibition to its portfolio. CWIEME Istanbul, held 18th to 20th November 2015, will be the only event dedicated to coil winding, electric motor and transformer manufacturing technologies in this growing region.
The industry’s smallest high voltage SIL Form B reed relays
Pickering Electronics has announced the addition of the industry’s smallest high voltage SILForm B (energise to break) reed relays to its Series 119 high voltage micro-SIL relay range. The relay is intended for voltages considerably higher than standard SIL relays, suitable for cable and backplane testers, mixed signal ATE or other applications where high voltage capability is required.
