Rigid-flex PCBs require impedance testing
Modern components with high clock rates and short switching times for high signal transmission rates require impedance matching for rigid-flex PCB technology. The impedance calculation, as well as the documentation and measurement of impedances is becomingincreasingly important.
PCB meets material requirements of motorcycle sports
A rigid-flex PCB, which meets the material requirements of motorcycle sport, has been developed byWürth Elektronik withGCD-PCB-Design. These requirements include suitability forrapid pace, extreme load changes, summer heat and mud, dust and dirt.
SMD offers alternative to press-in/through-hole technology
A high-current element for mounting on PCBs in SMD technology has been launched by Würth Elektronik ICS. The PowerOne SMD offers an alternative solution to regular press-in technology or through-hole technology (THT), with the SMD high-current elements processed with typical SMT lines and soldered in an infrared furnace or using the steam phase system.
Compact air flow transmitter meets mass HVAC applications
E+E Elektronik has launched a miniature air flow transmitter, the EE671 that measures air velocity up to 20 m/s. It has a compact design to meet mass applications in HVAC. The flow sensing element sets new standards in terms of accuracy and resistance to pollutants. The built-in VTQ flow sensing element based on thin-film technology works on the hot-film anemometer principle.
AEG PS to showcase products at CeBIT Bilişim Eurasia & CeBIT Global Conference 2014
Exhibiting at CeBIT Bilişim Eurasia & CeBIT Global Conference 2014 will be AEG Power Solutions, showcasing products ranging from surge protection for home and office to UPS systems for industry. Alongside its distributor, Kabim Elektronik, AEG PS will display its single-phase and three-phase UPS equipment which answers small and medium power protection requirements.
Top speakers/sponsors on parade for free design forum
A top flight panel of speakers and sponsors are lined up to appear at the RF & Wireless/LED & Lighting Design Forum in Manchester on September 9. The free event is organised by Motiv8 Forums and it takes place at The Point, Lancashire County Cricket Club, Old Trafford.
Power coils' pot core shape reduces outward radiation
Three transmitter coils and one receiver coil has been added to Würth Elektronik's Wireless Power Coil program. The ferrite pot core shape has major advantages, including, tightly bundling the magnetic field, increasing the possible coil distance and reducing outward radiation. The round shape also significantly reduces the mounting space required. The round transmitter coils 760 308 100 110 (A10) and 760 308 100 111 (A11) comply with the Qi...
Units recover 94% of thermal energy to heat water up to 90°C
Offering improved performance and a smaller footprint, a re-design of Atlas Copco's energy recovery units for its GA compressors has been announced. The stand-alone, retrofit energy recovery units recover up to 94% of thermal energy to heat water up to 90°C for a number of process and domestic applications such as showers or central heating.
Drive operates continuous full load from -20°C to 50°C
The development of an in-house designed inverter drive, called Neos, has been announced by Atlas Copco. The first in-house designed inverter drive from Altlas Copco, all of the company’s GA 37-90 VSD compressors will be equipped with the new Neos inverter units. They will also be available as spare parts for retrofitting existing GA models in the field.
Compressors provide 100% oil-free air in near silence
Boasting near silent operation,Atlas Copco's SF range of compressors has been expanded with the introduction of the SF Mono 1-6 and SF+ 2-6 ranges. Providing 100% oil-free air, the SF Mono 1-6 and SF+ 2-6 ranges are complete compressor packages that unite the element, drive motor, aftercooler and starter in a super silent acoustic enclosure.
