LNBR voltage regulator IC for satellite TV receivers - Single-channel device uses small ceramic capacitors to provide low-profile solution
The A8303 from Allegro MicroSystems Europe is a new addition to the company’s family of LNBR (low-noise block regulator) ICs for use in satellite receivers and LCD TV “combo” receivers. The new device uses small ceramic capacitors rather than electrolytic devices to provide a lower-profile solution, as well as incorporating a key output voltage setting (15.6 V) to accommodate Japan-specific design requirements.
PCB adaptor offers direct board mounting of industrial connector
A PCB adaptor which allows direct board mounting of the Han Q 12/0 industrial connector has been introduced by HARTING. The new adaptor means that the Han Q 12/0 - the HARTING connector in the small Han 3 A series with the highest number of pins - now has the option of direct connection to device boards. In addition to the actual PCB adaptor, special versions of the Han Q 12/0 connector's male and female inserts for the PCB adaptor are being intr...
HARTING launches new version of AdvancedMC plug with enhanced contact reliability and reduced manufacturing costs
HARTING has introduced a new version of its AdvancedMC plug connector with the card edge replaced by gold pads for AdvancedMC and MCH modules, resulting in a device with improved contact reliability and reduced manufacturing costs.
SIM card holder has a super-low profile
Yamaichi is extending its range of SIM card holders with the FMS008-6000-0 in a Super Low Profile Design. The height is only 1.5 mm. The component is fitted with a switch and comfortable push/push mechanism.
SIM Block Card Reader with Separate Switch
Yamaichi Electronics now offers with the FMS008-4000-xx connector a variable reading system for SIM and Smart cards. The card reading system’s basis is a 8-pin SIM block card reader which is special because of its low assembly height of 0.95 mm. This low profile allows for an embedded assembly processing, i.e. the card reader is embedded into the PCB. This feature significantly facilitates the insertion of the cards and additionally reduces the...
SD Card Reader with Stand-Off and Push/Push System
Yamaichi Electronics now offers the FPS009-2910-0, a new Push / Push SD Card connector with stand-off. The card reader FPS009-2910-0 has been newly developed on the basis of the already established top mount component FPS009-2901-0. It offers the same advantages but also an interesting new feature: the card reader has a stand-off of 1.2mm and thus allows for mounting of other components underneath / below the reader.
Micro-SIM card reader offers convenient card handling
With the FUS006-8500-0, Yamaichi is opening up a new portfolio of high-quality card readers in the FUS series, specially developed for micro-SIM (3FF). 3FF is the Third Form Factor card, a smaller version of the current SIM card. The current SIM card is 25mm x 15mm in size. In the micro-SIM, the outer lengths are only 15mm x 12mm. The miniaturisation of the card was also consistently continued for the card reader, while still placing value on man...
Miniature connector families from Omnetics
Omnetics Connector Corporation is now offering 0.635mm, 1.27mm pitch rectangular and metal circular connector families that have an operating temperature range of up to 200degC for use in petroleum industry applications, such as down hole drilling electronics, oil reserve sensor systems, towed array mapping and LWD (logging while drilling) data transmission.
National Semiconductor’s 65V Dual-Channel, Dual-Phase Synchronous Buck Controller Saves PCB Space in High Voltage Applications
National Semiconductor today introduced the LM5119, a high voltage, dual-channel, dual-phase, synchronous buck controller with emulated current-mode (ECM) control. The LM5119 enables regulation of single or dual high-current voltages directly from inputs as high as 65V, simplifying high voltage DC-DC conversion and reducing PCB footprint by up to 50 percent versus alternative solutions requiring two conversion stages. The LM5119 features a uni...
National Semiconductor Adds Low EMI, 10A Power Modules to SIMPLE SWITCHER Family
National Semiconductor introduced 12 new SIMPLE SWITCHER power modules, the first to drive up to 10A of output current and comply with the CISPR 22 (Class B) radiated and conducted electromagnetic interference (EMI) standard in industrial and communications infrastructure applications.
