Achieving miniaturisation success
As LEDs continue to shrink in size, there is a need for materials that dissipate heat quickly and solutions to ensure the effective electrical connection of micro LEDs. At the International LED professional Symposium 2018, Heraeus shows how this can be achieved.
LED driver ref design current balances for automotive daytime running
This reference design is a dual string LED driver that implements an operational amplifier based circuit which balances the current in two LED rings. The operational amplifier circuit senses current in a reference string and uses feedback from a mirrored string to bias a MOSFET that egulates the current between the strings.
Choosing the best designed LEDs for clients
When Light Emitting Diodes, or LEDs, became the main form of lighting, many architects and interior designers thought that the future of lighting was not just bright, it was infinitely variable. So why does it so often happen that the LED lighting they choose for their clients is a disappointment?
Making professionals more efficient by increasing battery power
With goals to enhance compact, high-performance batteries Bosch Professional has launched the latest ProCORE18V series. It aims to make professionals more efficient, through greater power, lifetime and runtime, and offers four, eight and 12.0Ah versions tailored to individual needs.
CO2Meter uses GSS sensors at the heart of its CO2 alarms
CO2Meter is a business specialising in the design and manufacture of gas detection and monitoring devices - mainly CO2. The company is a long term partner of Gas Sensing Solutions and has been using and supplying their next-gen, LED-based CO2 sensors at the heart of its range of CO2 detection devices. These range from level controllers to alarms and data loggers. It has recently extended its range of CO2 alarms with the addition of a version that...
RF/Microwave switches highlighted at EuMW 2018
RF & Microwave switching products that increase test system effectiveness and productivity will be demonstrated by Pickering Interfaces at European Microwave Week (September 25-27). A show debutant will be the 13-model family of PXI 8GHz solid-state RF switches, including SPDT, SP4T, SP6T, SP8T, SP16T and 4x4 Matrix devices.
Quantum dot films in displays
IDTechEx Research will focus on some of the key frontiers of short-, medium-, and long-term change in quantum dot (QDs) films. In particular, we will argue that the transition away from Cd based QDs will soon be complete; we will show how QD material improvements are translating into total cost reductions and how that is reshaping the market’s pricing strategies; and finally we will consider whether film type QDs can continue their supreme ...
LED lighting control reference design for machine vision
This LED lighting control reference design demonstrates an approach to drive and control a string of multiple high power light emitting diodes (LEDs). This reference design is targeted for industrial machine vision systems and is also suitable for other industrial or automotive lighting applications.
Metal line switches with ring illumination
The MSM Metal Line series with ring lighting has been revised and fine-tuned bySCHURTER.The optimised switches of the MSM family still have the same diameter of 19, 22 and 30mm. The high-quality housing made of either robust stainless steel or aluminium also remained untouched.
LED sports lighting luminaire saves 70% in energy costs
Specifiers looking for an efficient solution for lighting a leisure or sports facility need look no further than Fitzgerald Lighting’s popular LED Hi Sport luminaire. Fitzgerald Lighting has developed the LED Hi Sport for high lumen output and maximum energy savings.Compared with a traditional 400W discharge lamp luminaire, a 126W LED Hi Sport luminaire saves an impressive 70% in energy costs.
