Turning tall buildings into batteries to improve power quality
With the rapid reduction in the costs of renewable energy generation, such as wind and solar power, there is a growing need for energy storage technologies to make sure that electricity supply and demand are balanced properly. IIASA researchers have come up with a new energy storage concept that could turn tall buildings into batteries to improve the power quality in urban settings.
TI addresses power management design
Texas Instruments (TI) will demonstrate at APEC (the Applied Power Electronics Conference) how engineers can overcome some of their most pressing power-management design challenges. From the 20th to the 24th of March 2022 in booth 514, the company will showcase the newest additions to its powermanagement portfolio and demonstrate system-level solutions for increasing power density; reducing electromagnetic interference (EMI), noise and quiescent ...
60-V input, 3.5-A, step-down DC/DC converter with Eco-Mode™
The TPS54360B is a 60-V, 3.5-A, step-down regulator with an integrated high side MOSFET. Current mode control provides simple external compensation and flexible component selection. A low ripple pulse skip mode reduces the no-load supply current to 146 µA. Shutdown supply current is reduced to 2 µA when the enable pin is pulled low.
