Resistor features built-in climate control
Aresistor with built-in climate control has been introduced byVishay Foil Resistors (VFR). The bulk metal foil RTD simulator resistor is designed tosimulatePT-100 and PT-1000 RTD outputs for the calibration of RTD instruments. The resistor, the company claim, provides a faster, easier and less expensive alternative to decade boxes and electronic simulators for the calibration of a range of applications including transmitters.
Capacitors meet latest IEC standard for automotive use
Vishay has launched a new series of AEC-Q200-qualified, AC-line-rated ceramic disc safety capacitors designed to provide high reliability for Class X1 (440VAC) and Y2 (300VAC) automotive applications in accordance with IEC 60384-14.3, 3rd edition. This AY2 series is available at distributor Rutronik.
Thin film chip resistors are AEC-Q200 qualified
Featuring gold terminations for conductive gluing, the MC ATAU series of precision thin film chip resistors has been unveiled by Vishay Intertechnology. Operating over a wide temperature range from -55 to +155°C, the AEC-Q200 qualified resistors feature tight tolerances to ±0.1% and TCR down to ±15ppm/K in 0402 and 0603 case sizes.
Collaboration boosts foil resistor output
Charcroft Electronics position as an Express Hub for Vishay Precision Group’s (VPG) foil resistors is being strengthened by the two companies working together to implement new equipment that will increase capacity. The investment means Charcroft will be able to support more volume with shorter lead times.
Thin film chip resistors reduce thermal resistance
Offering power ratings of 2 and 6W in compact 1206 and 2512 case sizes, the PCAN series of high-power, surface-mount precision thin film chip resistors has been announced by Vishay Intertechnology. The aluminium nitride substrates of the resistors have enlarged backside terminations in order to reduce the thermal resistance between the topside resistor layer and the solder joint on the end user's circuit assembly.
iPad app provides direct link to passive components
An app allowing for the easy access of Vishay Intertechnology'sSuper 12 and Engineer's Toolbox collections has been made available for the iPad.Vishay's Super 12brings together a dozen key semiconductor and passive components featuringimproved technologies that can significantly improve the performance of end products and systems.
Arrays feature gold terminations for conductive gluing
Featuring gold terminations for conductive gluing, the ACAS 0606 ATAU resistor array has been introduced by Vishay Intertechnology. The resistor arrays combines high-temperature operation to 155°C with relative tolerance down to ±0.05%, as well as relative TCR down to ±5 ppm/K. The company claims that the resistor arrays enable significantly more accurate performance than two high-precision discrete resistors.
Ceramic disc safety capacitors target EVs and PHEVs
Providing high reliability for Class X1 (440V AC) and Y2 (300V AC) automotive applications, Vishay announces the AY2 series of AC-line-rated ceramic disc safety capacitors. These AEC-Q200-qualified devices are optimised for on-board chargers and battery management in electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), as well as high-reliability industrial applications.
IoT solutions embrace hardware, software and services
Rutronik has launched a new range of bundled hardware, software and services under the RUTRONIK SMART brand. It brings together entire solutions, consisting of selected sensors, wireless components, micro-controllers, power management and safety solutions for devices on the Internet of Things (IoT).
Current sense resistors offer industry's lowest TCR
Offering a TCR of ±2 ppm/°C, which the manufacturer claims is the industry's lowest for high-power current shunts, Vishay Precision Group has introduced the first devices in the S series of precision foil current sense resistors. The SHR, SHS, SNR and SPR resistors offer a range of power ratings from 1.5 in free air to 80W when mounted on a heatsink.
