Renesas releases digital multiphase controllers and smart power stages
Renesas Electronics hasannounced its 2nd generation of 15 new digital multiphase controllers and six smart power stages that support 10A up to 1000A+ digital computing loads for advanced CPUs, FPGAs, GPUs and Artificial Intelligence (AI) ASICs addressing IoT infrastructure systems.
DRAMless doesn't always mean low budget
As Hyperstone explain, there are other reasons than cost to design an SSD or USB drive without DRAM.
Renesas announces buck-boost DC/DC converter with ultra-low quiescent current
Renesas Electronics hasintroduced the ISL9122A, a flexible buck-boost switching regulator with bypass mode that provides ultra-low Quiescent Current (IQ) for powering sensors, microcontrollers (MCUs), wireless devices, and other system components. Operating with battery output from 1.8V to 5.5V, the ISL9122A extends the battery life of smart IoT devices powered by coin-cell, lithium and multiple series alkaline batteries.
AVX miniature high-CV tantalum chip F98-AJ6 Series capacitors released
AVX has released a new series of high-CV resin-moulded, surface-mount tantalum chip capacitors with a miniature and low-profile facedown design optimised for automotive electronics applications. The new F98-AJ6 Series capacitors are currently available in miniature 0603 and 0805 chip sizes with maximum heights of just 1.0mm and 0.80±0.10mm, respectively.
35kA test stand for surge current tests
The latest joint development is a test stand for surge current tests up to 35kA for the IPH Institute ‘Prüffeld für elektrische Hochleistungstechnik’ in Berlin. IPH is part of KEMA Labs, the Testing Inspection and Certification Division of CESI.
How GPS tech is bringing atomic timing to industrial applications
How on earth, you might wonder, can GPS receivers use weak electromagnetic signals emitted from distant satellites to determine its position to within just a few meters (or even centimeters)? To a large extent, it’s because they are excellent timing devices that determine their position based on the time it takes for the satellite signals to reach them from orbit.
Powerstax - powering hydrogen production
Hydrogen is widely used in existing industrial processes including semiconductor manufacturing and aerospace, as a coolant in power plant generators, petroleum refining, glass purification, fertilizer production, pharmaceuticals and welding, annealing and heat-treating metals. Other applications include UPS systems for hospitals and data centres and power for telecoms infrastructure in remote locations.
STMicroelectronics BlueNRG-LP Bluetooth 5.2-certified SoC
STMicroelectronics has revealed its latest BlueNRG-LP Bluetooth LE System-on-Chip (SoC), which leverages the latest Bluetooth features to increase communication range, raise throughput, strengthen security, and save power. The ultra-low-power radio is optimised to consume as little as 3.4mA in receive mode, just 4.3mA when transmitting, and less than 500nA quietly waiting for wake-up events, cutting by half the size of battery needed in most appl...
