Discrete board-to-board connectors for LEDs
The use of LED strip PCB’s is popular in the efficient production of electrical lighting solutions. Würth Elektronik eiSos is now introducing a completely series of connectors for connecting LED strip PCB’s: WR-LECO is available with two, three, four or five poles and is attractive due to its very flat design, only 2.45 mm high.
Solderless connectors eliminate PCB headers
A new concept in PCB connection technology has been introduced by RS Components with the introduction of the SKEDD SDC 2,5 series of solderless direct wire-to-board connectors from Phoenix Contact. SKEDD technology from Würth Elektronik, and further developed by Phoenix, uses push-in spring contacts manufactured to fit PCB hole geometries perfectly. No soldering or press fitting is needed.

Digital humidity sensors integrate contamination protection
At SENSOR+TEST 2016, E+E Elektronik will present the EEH110 and EEH210 digital humidity and temperature sensors for the first time. The integrated E+E proprietary coating protects the sensors from pollution and enables excellent long-term stability, even under harsh conditions. Several interfaces and supply voltages (3 or 5V) allow for easy integration of the accurate RH/T sensors in a wide range of applications.
Evaluation kit eases path into digital power control
Worldwide availability of the new XMC Digital Power Explorer Kit from Infineon has been announced by RS Components. The kit was created for analogue power supply designers and embedded software programmers to help accelerate their learning in the capabilities of digital power control. The kit is also very useful for digital engineers to gather a better understanding of PMBusTM technologies for the digital control of power supplies.
Manual is the latest text about how to control DC voltage
Würth Elektronik eiSos is releasing a new manual:ABC of Power Modules–Functionality, Structure and Handling of a Power Moduleis the first practical manual specifically about using components to control DC voltage. The manual explains the basics of voltage control and frequently used switching topologies. The mechanical design of a power module is described as well as its impact on EMC and heat management.
SMT Hybrid Packaging event enlists more industry support
SMT Hybrid Packaging has broadend its contacts in industry by cooperating with the SMTA (Surface Mount Technology Association) and the German Chapter of IEEE-CPMT. The aim is the increase of global visibility for all cooperating partners.
New networking event in the electronics branch
Which innovations are currently in the R&D pipeline of the electronics branch? How open must decision-makers in the electronics industry keep their minds for new technologies? And above all else: what is the role played by the 'smart factory' in this connection? These and a host of similar questions were on the agenda of the very first Innovation Symposium in the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany on 26th January, attended by more than 50 manag...
