Non-contact voltage detector for safe job site
A non-contact voltage detector with a built-in flashlight designed for field-troubleshooting and verification of residential, commercial, and industrial electrical installations has been announced by FLIR Systems, with the new FLIR VP42. The FLIR VP42 makes it easy to quickly troubleshoot live and neutral wiring to ensure a safe job site.
Embedded cameras with LED ring light
Image processing systems with integrated LED ring lights and flash controllers in a compact camera housing are now available from Vision Components. Many applications can therefore be implemented with VCnanoZ embedded vision systems without any additional components. These systems are suited for code reading, pick & place applications, completeness control, and shape inspection.
Transform your city or business with the 'three Ps of lighting'
Lighting systems take on a new role as a connectivity backbone for IoT applications in smart cities, smart buildings and smart business. In the last decade, energy-efficient LEDs have replaced more and more incandescent lamps in the world.Recently, connectivity and lighting have resulted in networked lighting systems that can be remotely monitored and controlled. Now, this smart lighting infrastructure is beginning to make its connectivity availabl...
VITA 57.4 module with 12 TX/RX Fibre MTP/MPO
Manufacturer of integrated systems and embedded boards, VadaTech, has announces the FMC258. The FMC258 is an FPGA Mezzanine Module per VITA 57.4 (FMC+) specification. It has a single Board-Mount Optical Assembly, providing 12 channel full-duplex transceivers with Clock Data Recovery (CDR) and front-panel Fibre I/O via MTP/MPO.
Memory modules on show at Computex 2019
The emerging memory company, Essencore, will be showing several new additions to its KLEVV range of high-performance products at the Computex 2019 show in Taipei, Taiwan, including RGB-equipped M.2 SSDs and memory modules. This will be Essencore’s second appearance at Computex, following a successful debut last year.
Buttons and switches addressing design needs
Touchscreens and membrane switches are useful for visual and low-profile control panels. However, some applications require designers to emphasise safety, ease of access, the switching of high voltages or current, a known configuration at power up, or robustness. For such situations, mechanical switches and buttons are often ideal, but designers need to choose carefully. Rich Miron, Applications Engineer at Digi-Key Electronics, explains.
Embedded services router EN 50155-compliant
It has been announced that Elma Electronic now offers a fully EN 50155-compliant NetSys-5304 that facilitates secure communication in rolling-stock applications that involve vehicle positioning, monitoring, speed control and collision avoidance. The NetSys-5304 is part of Elma’s Cisco-enabled family of rugged systems designed for high performance communication and computing at the network edge.
Primerless silicone encapsulant now available
It has been announced that Ellsworth Adhesives are now taking orders for the newly-launched Dowsil (Dow) EI-2888 Primerless Silicone Encapsulant. Dowsil EI-2888 is an optically clear encapsulant designed for professional LED lighting applications. The 100% silicone encapsulant provides LEDs with essential protection from moisture and surface contaminants.
New generation of LED lighting for the electronics industry
Luminaires manufacturer, Chalmit has launchedthe Protecta X LED, a revolutionary light for the electrical and electronics industries. Up to 50% brighter than any traditional linear light on the market, the Protecta X has a user-definable light distribution, a maintenance-free lifespan of over 120,000 hours at 25°C, is easier to maintain, and thanks to an optional battery stick, can be installed in half the time.
