Wearable technologies event attracts big names
The forecasts suggest wearable technology will be a $70bn market and in two week’s time the players in this emerging market will be making their way to IDTechEx’s Wearable Technology LIVE! USA 2014 conference and exhibition in Santa Clara, California (Nov 19-20). The event is co-located with a series of highly relevant and synergic tradeshows and conferences on Printed Electronics, Energy Harvesting and Storage and the Internet of Thi...
Radar-cross section simulation demonstrated at EuMW 2014
At European Microwave Week (EuMW) 2014, CST will be demonstrating the radar-cross section (RCS) simulation feature now available in it's updated electromagnetic simulation tool. The CST STUDIO SUITE is used by aerospace and defence companies and government agencies for mission-critical applications.
EuMW 2014: Radar target simulator eyes automotive market
Rohde & Schwarz chose European Microwave Week to take the wraps off an agreement to sell the ARTS turnkey radar target simulator from ITS and miro-sys. The market target is automotive radar now being installed in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), to quickly and precisely measure the speed and distance of multiple objects, regardless of weather conditions.
EuMW 2014: E-Band driver amplifier unveiled
At European Microwave Week, MACOM has strengthened its hand in the backhaul point-to-point radio space with the introduction of a 4 stage E-Band driver amplifier that builds on its previous MAAP-011106 E-Band Power amplifier release in early March. Delivering typical Psat of 24 dBm for the 71-76 GHz and 81-86 GHz frequency ranges in a single product, the device is ideal for high capacity macro cell and small cell backhaul point to point radios.
3G/4G LTE Gigabit backhaul system on show at EuMW
At European Microwave Week 2014, in booth 152, Infineon is presenting a full system design for the wireless connection of base stations to the corresponding base station controller of a mobile communications network. Based on Infineon’s E-/V-band transceiver family, the wireless backhaul system design offers maximum flexibility and competitiveness by allowing network operators to continuously upgrade in the field.
EM simulation tool previews at EuMW 2014
In booth 109 at European Microwave Week (EuMW) 2014, Computer Simulation Technology is previewing CST STUDIO SUITE 2015, the upcoming version of its flagship electromagnetic (EM) simulation tool. Used to model systems and optimise designs, the upcoming version integrates solvers covering a broad range of frequencies and geometrical scales. The solvers are complemented by more specialised technology for applications such as PCBs, cables, thermal a...
EuMW 2014: PXI advance speeds load pull tests
European Microwave Week is the platform for Mesuro with support from National Instruments to demonstrate its latest advance in the utilisation of PXI to improve the speed of test for today’s technical demands. The two organisations will demonstrate a load pull set up that uses a traditional passive tuner for fundamental tuning and adds the RAPID PXI digital tuner to provide a high speed harmonic tuning capability.
EuMW 2014: Network analyser extension unit launched
At European Microwave Week Rohde & Schwarz has introduced an extension unit for its R&S ZVA high end network analyser family. The R&S ZVAX-TRM can be combined with an analyser to yield a powerful, compact and highly customisable system. The extension unit conditions the signals from the network analyser as required for a given task and either returns them to the analyser or outputs them via its integrated high-power test ports.
Wearable tech and IoT pave the way for a $300m printed/thin/flexible batteries market by 2024
Form factor is becoming a major driver shaping innovation and transforming the energy storage industry globally. This is fuelled by the emergence of new market categorises such as wearable electronic devices and Internet of Things, which demand thinness and flexibility. These needs add a new force to current prevalent market drivers such as cost reduction and power/energy density increases.
EuMW2014:Power sensors span -70dBm to +26dBm dynamic range
Keysight Technologies’ U2040 X-Series wide dynamic range power sensors made their debut at European Microwave Week. The series consists of four USB models for wireless and radar applications, and a dedicated LAN model for satellite testing. The 96 dB dynamic range, spanning -70 dBm to +26 dBm, enables accurate power measurements of very small signals, critical for applications such as wireless chipset and power amplifier module manufacturin...
