electronica 2018 Cyber Security Forum
Security is the key feature in any electronics system or product, whether it is embedded in the hardware or implemented using software. Hosted by Electronic Specifier, the Cyber Security Forum at electronica will offer a range of solutions from four key industry sectors. The forum will take place on 14th-15th November, hall C3, stand 534.
What are the key trends for emerging technologies?
Last week while most of us this side of the pond were at the electronica exhibition in Munich, approximately 3,500 attendees from 42 countries headed to the IDTechEx Show in Santa Clara, California, which featured 284 exhibiting organisations. Raghu Das, CEO, IDTechEx, explains.
Leading memory for AI, IoT edge and autonomous driving vehicles
Electronic Specifier had a chance to meet with memory solutions provider Micron at the recent electronica exhibition in Munich. The company, with headquarters in Boise, Idaho, specialises in DRAM, NAND Flash, NOR Flash, Hybrid memory solutions and Solid State Drives (SSDs), which have applications in a broad line of industries such as automotive, consumer, embedded, industrial, mobile, networking and financial.
Coating and curing like nothing before
People often don’t realise how important coatings are to a lot of products and industries.Electrolube recently attended electronica 2018, to show live demonstrations of what it describes to be revolutionary, and one of a kind, new 2K850 conformal coating material using a line-up of three machines covering: dispensing and cure, followed by an end-of-line test of the coating using new technology.
Harvested energy enables truly self-powered IoT applications
At electronica ON Semiconductor introduced its Bluetooth Low Energy Switch reference design that operates entirely from harvested energy. The platform demonstrates how the RSL10 System-in-Package (SIP) can enable Bluetooth 5 devices that are battery-less and entirely self-powered, requiring no additional energy source. Application examples include wall and lighting control, building automation, and asset tracking.
Repair and assembly to the fore at electronica
With repair and assembly sites located in Estonia, Finland and Russia, and an experienced team boasting more than two decades of specialising in designing, building and repairing a wide range of telecommunications and industrial automation products, TDR will once again present its innovative solutions at electronica in Munich (November 13-16).
All Circuits to present EMS expertise at electronica
France’s largest EMS company, ALL Circuits will be participating at electronica 2018 in Munich (November 13-16). ALL Circuits has added BMS Circuits in Bayonne, TIS Circuits in Tunisia, and more recently AC Electronics in Angers and GDL Circuits in Guadalajara, Mexico. In 2015, ALL Circuits was acquired by IEE, strengthening both its automotive pedigree and market offering.
Wafer fab capability signals the coming of a new generation
Last week at the electronica trade show,Menlo Microannounced that its Digital-Micro-Switch (DMS) technology platform has been successfully ported from an R&D facility to a commercial 8” wafer manufacturing line. In partnership withCorning Incorporated, andSilex Microsystems, Menlo is now sampling product from this new manufacturing line and will begin scaling up the production of its micro-mechanical switches before year’s end.
