Arrow, NXP collaborate on NFC reference design board
Arrow Electronics European engineering team has joined forces with NXP Semiconductors to develop SmarTool NFC, a reference design board created to help customers develop hardware and software that uses NFC (Near Field Communication) technology for applications such as access control, payment systems and contactless data exchange. NFC simplifies Smart home wireless energy harvesting

With an energy harvesting switch (featuring no battery and no wires) from EnOcean, the demonstration network uses the NXP JN5161 wireless microcontroller and implements the ZigBee Green Power feature.

ESD protection diodes safeguard NFC antennas
NXP Semiconductors has introduced the PESD18VF1BL and PESD24VF1BL ESD protection devices which are specifically designed to protect NFC antennas from transient voltages in mobile devices. 18 and 24V (respectively) bi-directional diodes, the devices feature very low capacitance down to 0.35pF in order to allow easy design of the antenna matching circuit.
