WEG completes multi-million-euro investment
WEGhas now significantly expanded capacity at its WEG Centre of Excellence for Drive Development in Markt Piesting, Austria. Construction work for the new facilities on the grounds of WEG subsidiary Watt Drive Antriebstechnik GmbH is now complete, while modernisation of the machine pool will continue apace until 2023.
Laser optics customisation to meet specific requirements
LASER COMPONENTS has announced that it manufactures laser optics that are optimally adapted to meet the customer’s requirements. This not only applies to series production but to the individual lenses and mirrors produced in house as well. From substrate production and coatings to a thorough outgoing goods inspection, all operating steps are carried out in house.
Drivers for high-power continuous wave laser diodes
PicoLAS introduced two new drivers of the LDP-CW 250-40 series to offer efficient control of high-performance continuous wave laser diodes. The electronics are housed in an ultra-compact casing and achieve an output power of 10kW at a power density of 5W/cm³. At an efficiency of 94%, both models generate a maximum output current of 250A and an output voltage of up to 40V.
CW visible doped fibre laser from Laser Components
LASER COMPONENTS has announced that it now offers Lumibird’s CW Visible Fibre Lasers (CVFL series), the frequency converted ytterbium and/or erbium-ytterbium doped fibre lasers designed to provide fixed wavelength outputs from 520nm to 790nm. We provide 520, 532, 546, 560, 577, 642, 660 and 780nm as standard wavelengths and output power up to 3W.
More USB versions of OKW’s MINITEC pocket size enclosures
OKW has increased the range of USB connectivity options for its MINITEC plastic enclosures for personal electronics. MINITEC – which won an iF Product Design Award – is a modern range of ergonomic enclosures for remote control key fobs, IoT/IIoT, compact measurement devices, data recording, personal emergency/alarm systems, medical or fitness monitoring devices.
APD drive electronics from Laser Components
LASER COMPONENTS has announced that it now offers a wide range of avalanche photodiodes (APDs) with performance optimised for different signal levels, spectral ranges, bandwidths, temperatures and volumes. These extremely sensitive detectors can detect light levels down to single photons and are widely used in automotive, medical defence and scientific markets.
Fibre lasers and amplifiers for your application
LASER COMPONENTS has supplied the highest quality fibre lasers and fibre amplifiers for a large variety of applications such as defence, environmental monitoring (remote and in situ sensing), and scientific research. These devices from our partner Lumibird cover a wavelength range from 0.35µm to 2µm and are available either in continuous or pulsed regime.
WEG introduces live remote factory acceptance testing
Global motor and drive manufacturer, WEG has developed a new testing procedure that allows customers to witness the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) process without travelling to a WEG manufacturing plant. Used in Portugal since March 2020, the remote testing system helps to keep projects on schedule despite social distancing regulations limiting factory visits.
RFID helps transparency of pharmaceutical supply chain
Murata ID Solutions has helped Bayer leverage radio frequency identification (RFID) tracking in the first large-scale application of the technology in the pharmaceutical supply chain. The pioneering project has enabled Bayer to gain real-time visibility over its distribution processes to optimise customer service, improve product security and asset tracking, and enhance response to unprecedented threats.
Visualisation tools for invisible laser radiation
LASER COMPONENTS has announced that it now offers a comprehensive range of alignment and visualisation tools for invisible laser radiation, covering a wide variety of power levels and the entire spectral range from UV to IR.
