2W LED Driver Addresses High-Power Backlighting Applications
Catalyst Semiconductor has announced a 2W LED driver to address high-power backlighting applications. The CAT4240 boost converter provides a high switch current up to 750mA and high voltage up to 38V, making it ideal for driving a wide range of backlighting applications ranging from 1W LEDs in series to multiple strings of lower-power LEDs.
New 2MHz Step-Down DC/DC Converters from Linear Need Only 2.7µA of Quiescent Current
Linear have announced the LT3975, a 42V step-down switching regulator that can deliver 2.5A of continuous output current and requires only 2.7µA of quiescent current. Similarly, the LT3976 can operate from a 40V input, delivers up to 5A of output current and requires only 3.3µA of quiescent current. Both devices offer a 4.2V to a nominal 40V input voltage range, making them ideal for automotive and industrial applications.
60V Step-Down LED Driver Drives Three Independent LED Strings of 100mA LEDs & Offers 10,000:1 True Color PWM Dimming
Linear Technology announces the LT3597, a 60V, 1MHz, step-down DC/DC converter designed to operate as a three channel, constant current LED driver. Each channel of the LT3597 contains a constant current sink LED driver with a dedicated adaptive-output buck converter.
High Linearity 620MHz-1100MHz Quadrature Modulator
A new high performance quadrature modulator from Linear Technology is optimized for 850MHz to 965MHz GSM, CDMA2000, ISM, and RFID modulator applications. The LT5571 accepts I (In phase) and Q (Quadrature phase) baseband signals and modulates directly to RF. Its Zero or Low IF transmitter architecture enables basestation designers to achieve high performance while reducing power and parts count, shrinking size, and achieving system cost savings. T...
Versatile power management IC
Linear Technology has introduced the LTC2952, a versatile power management IC with push-button on/off control for system power and system monitoring features. The power management function features two ideal PowerPath controllers suitable for applications requiring an ideal diode-OR function for load sharing or automatic switchover between two input power sources. The low loss switchover is achieved by regulating two external P-channel MOSFETs wi...
Isolated RS485 µModule Transceiver Integrates Isolated Power
Linear Technology has introduced the LTM2881, an isolated RS485 µModule transceiver that guards against large ground-to-ground differentials and common mode transients. In practical RS485 systems, ground potentials vary widely from node to node, often exceeding the tolerable range, which can result in an interruption of communications or destruction of a transceiver. The LTM2881 breaks ground loops by isolating the logic level interface and line...
Linear Technology Commemorates 30 Years of Analog Innovation
Founded 30 years ago, Linear Technology Corporation commemorated three decades of innovation in analog integrated circuits. Founded in September 1981, at the dawn of the digital revolution, some questioned the wisdom of founding a company focused purely on analog technology. Over these 30 years, the worldwide analog market has grown from $2 billion to over $40 billion today, and Linear has prospered with that growth.
Very Fast Low Distortion, Low Noise Differential Amplifiers/ADC Drivers Simplify System Design
Linear Technology has introduced the LT6402 and LT6411, two new differential amplifiers suitable as high-speed ADC drivers, twisted-pair line drivers and single-ended to differential signal converters. These new products utilize a novel design topology to integrate precision gain-setting resistors on-chip. In addition to simplifying system design and reducing external component count, these devices optimize distortion power and noise performance,...
Single-Inductor Low VIN Buck-Boost DC/DC Controller Optimized for Medium Power Outputs
Linear Technology has introduced the LTC3785, a 96% efficient buck-boost switching regulator controller that operates from input voltages above, below or equal to the output voltage for powering tablet PCs, handheld instruments, wireless modems, portable media players and a wide variety of single or dual-cell Li-Ion or multi-cell alkaline/NiMH powered devices.
2A, 1MHz Synchronous Boost Regulator from Linear Technology
Linear Technology has announced the LTC3539/-2, 1MHz/2MHz, current mode, synchronous boost DC/DC converters with output disconnect and integrated soft-start. Their internal 2A switches can deliver output voltages as high as 5.25V from an input voltage range of 0.70V at start-up, (0.5V when running) to 5V, making them ideal for Li-Ion/Polymer or single/multicell alkaline/NiMH applications.
