AMA Innovation Award 2013 for a Membrane-Free Optical Microphone and a 3D Scanning Laser Vibrometer Microscope with a Measuring Beam
The AMA Association for Sensor Technology (AMA) will present the AMA Innovation Award 2013 to the winning contenders on the 14th of May at the SENSOR+TEST trade fair in Nuremberg. The 10,000-euro award will be equally divided between the two winning projects, a membrane-free optical microphone from Xarion GmbH and a 3D scanning laser vibrometer microscope with a measuring beam from Polytec GmbH.
Three new families of ultrasonic sensors
The robust yet accurate measuring method makes ultrasonic sensors ideal for a wide variety of applications. Simple parameterization - if the application requires it - coupled with measuring ranges extending from a few centimeters to 10 m turn ultrasonic sensors from problem solvers into sensors for every application.
Put smart recording in the driver's seat - Sonoscout NVH Recorder
An intuitive new sound and vibration recorder lets engineers analyse their measurements on the go, using an iPad to manage data and listen to recordings. Using the portable Sonoscout system, engineers can validate recordings in real-time, to remove the risk of recording bad data and then having to repeat expensive testing.
Software Option Shifts EMI Testing Into Design Phase
A new software option from Rohde & Schwarz has been developed to allow engineers to optimise the EMI performance of their products as early as the design phase. Such a process should save time as the engineers work towards final EMI certification. The software option supports EMI bandwidths in compliance with commercial and military standards. The option contains EMI detectors such as peak, quasi peak, CISPR average and RMS average in line with C...
Digital module connects strain gauges and load-cells easily
The DSC Digital Load Cell or Strain Gauge Digitiser Modules, available from Aptifirst Ltd, are an easy-to-use, cost-effective means of connecting suitable sensors to digital PC or PLC systems. Designed for use with strain gauge sensors such as pressure transducers, load cells and torque sensors, the DSC offers high speed, high precision strain gauge signal conversion with linearisation and temperature compensation of the sensor, and will provide ...
PREMO at PCIM Europe 2013
PREMO will be showcasing its latest power management solutions at Hall 7, Stand 653. Attendees can check our comprehensive portfolio of current and voltage transducers as well as a full line of EMC Filters used in a broad range of applications in power electronics and renewable energy.
SWOPP Probes Create Windows On Processing
Aptifirst’s SWOPP range of sapphire window optical process probes is ideal for laboratory, pilot plant and inline monitoring and for quality and process control. SWOPP probes, using the 0.17-5.5-micron optical transmission range of sapphire, can work in the near-infrared, visible and ultraviolet parts of the spectrum, permitting various spectrometric techniques to be employed.
Meggitt Sensing Systems releases radiation-resistant vibration monitoring solutions
Nuclear power plants utilize vibration monitoring to ensure continuous power generation and safety for personnel and equipment, and prevent radiation leaks. Expensive and crucial machinery including cold water feed pumps, pressurized water reactors, and steam generators operate more efficiently as a result of condition monitoring. Meggitt has developed new radiation-hardened vibration sensors and cable assemblies to meet specific requirements for...
