Application processor is suited for wearable devices
Specifically designed for wearable devices such as activity monitors, smart watches, bracelet- and glasses-type devices, Toshiba unveil the TZ1001MBG. This application processor integrates sensing, data processing and wireless transmission into a single package in order to reduce mounting area and help downsize wearable devices.
Benchtop reflow oven is controlled by Android OS
By simulating the environment of an inline reflow system in a small footprint, Manncorp’s MC-301 Benchtop Reflow Oven is suitable for prototyping, manufacturability testing and short-run batch production. It features an innovative Android-based operating system and high-resolution touchscreen user interface.
HVDC power supply enhances railway engineering test options
REO (UK), has launched a new high voltage direct current (HVDC) power supply for multi-function use. The REOLAB 420 boasts a range of high-stability innovations to improve testing in railway engineering. It is a three phase DC high voltage power supply that is ideal for use as an auxiliary supply, and is used for the development and testing of frequency converters for railway engineering.
AFEs integrate 8 24-bit ADCs & boast 94.5 dB SINAD
Claiming industry-leading accuracy, the MCP3913 and MCP3914 are Microchip's next-generation family of energy-measurement AFEs.
APEC to feature intelligent digital power technical sessions
At this year's APEC, scheduled in Fort Worth, Texas, Powervation will discuss its Intelligent Digital Power solutions for a number of applications. These applications include cloud/datacenter server infrastructure, high performance computing, power modules, and communications infrastructure.
Taking the pressure out of home monitoring
An analogue front-end suitable for blood pressure monitoring systems provides affordable accuracy in an increasingly cost-conscious use-case. Debbie Brandenburg, Product Marketing Manager, High Performance Analog Products, Exar, discusses more in this ES Design magazine article.
IC enables power monitoring with minimal firmware
Enabling the addition of power monitoring with minimal firmware development, Microchip's MCP39F501 is a power-monitoring IC designed for the real-time measurement of AC power. The single-phase power-monitoring IC features two 24-bit delta-sigma ADCs, a 16-bit calculation engine, EEPROM and a flexible two-wire interface.
Measure the area under the curve using an oscilloscope
This video uses an Agilent InfiniiVision X-Series oscilloscope to demonstarte how to measure the area under the curve on an oscilloscope. This integration method will work on any oscilloscope that has an integrated maths function and, ideally, cursors that can be applied to the maths function. The X-values of the cursors represent the limits of integration, while delta-Y is the area under the curve.
The industry's highest performance dual-core MCUs
Setting a new performance standard for MCU performance in high-end industrial applications, Texas Instruments have today introduced the new C2000 Delfino 32-bit F2837xD microcontroller. Featuring floating-point performance of 800 MIPS, these new MCUs are ideal for applications requiring real-time signal analysis, such as high-end servo drives, solar central inverters, industrial uninterruptable power supplies and more.
Packaging power for the next generation
The concept of hybrid and electric vehicles is far from new, but the challenges in the ascendance of the latest generation require new solutions. By Benjamin Jackson Senior Manager, Automotive Power Switch & Power Module, Product Management & Business Development, with International Rectifier.
