Drivers eliminate flicker with incorporated universal input
Adding to their existing range of15 to 60W LED drivers, XP Power have announced additions to theDLE series of AC input LED drivers. TheDLE25 & 35 series of AC input LED drivers eliminateflicker due to the incorporated universal input with active power factor correction in a two power stage design.
MCU maths libraries help maintain ultra-low power consumption
Leveraging intelligent peripherals and optimised software to ease the burden of complex maths instructions, Texas Instruments has announced an expanded ecosystem of free and easy-to-use maths libraries for its MSP430 MCUs.Both MSPMATHLIB and IQmathLib software libraries are suitable for applications where performance and power are critical, such as orientation tracking.
Converters boast highest power ratings in SIP format
Encapsulated in an SIP 8-pin package measuring just 21.85 x 11.1 x 9.2 mm, theITX series of 6 Watt DC/DC converters are believed to be one of the highest power ratings available in a SIP format. The devices, from XP Power, delivera power density of up to 46W per cubic inch with the company claiming that the seriesoccupies much less board space than competing devices.
Connectivity features in Cortex A-5 evaluation kit
Farnell element14 and Atmel have launched the SAMA5D3 Xplained evaluation kit, a low-cost fast prototyping and evaluation platform for microprocessor-based design. The board, which is based on Atmel’s SAMA5D3 ARM Cortex-A5 processor-based MPU, comes with a rich set of ready-to-use connectivity and storage peripherals, along with Arduino shield-compatible expansion headers for easy customisation.
