Partnership enables secure environment for automotive systems
Renesas hasannounced they are expanding their partnership to offer an integrated virtualisation, functional safety and secure development environment for the Renesas R-Car system-on-chip (SoC) devices. Using BlackBerry’s QNX software, it was developed as part of the companies’ ongoing strategic relationship to advance autonomous and connected driving technology.
HMI- and Camera-Based Development
Renesas introduced a new design environment for its powerful RZ/A1 microprocessors to simplify and accelerate the development of rich human-machine interface- (HMI) and camera- and GUI-based applications, such as industrial equipment, building controls, home automation, medical devices, white goods, and video surveillance and video/fingerprint based access control.
Development kit accelerates IoT applications
The Renesas Synergy AE-CLOUD2 kit from is now available and shipping from RS Components in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions. The kit enables rapid evaluation, prototyping and development of LTE-cellular IoT cloud-connected applications. The kit helps embedded developers to quickly and easily connect IoT devices and sensors to global cloud services via cellular (Note), Ethernet or Wi-Fi communications.
NarrowBand-IoT functionality added to ARIS-EDGE
The ARIS (Arrow Renesas IoT Synergy) platform for developing Internet of Things (IoT) devices has been extended by introducing the ARIS-EDGE-NB-IoT shield. The shield, made by Shiratech, features a Quectel BG96 module and plugs onto the ARIS-EDGE-S3 board, which is based on the low-power Renesas Synergy S3A3 microcontroller.
Bidirectional synchronous buck-boost controllers sense peak current
Advanced semiconductor solutions supplier, Renesas Electronics, has announced an innovative new family of bidirectional four-switch synchronous buck-boost controllers. The ISL81601 and ISL81401 are true bidirectional controllers that sense peak current at both ends and provide cycle-by-cycle current limit in both directions while in buck or boost mode.
Bringing AI into embedded systems with intelligent endpoints
Renesas Electronicsis expanding its range of embedded artificial intelligence(e-AI) solutionsfor incorporating AI into embedded systems by bringing intelligence to endpoints. Approximately 150 companies in more than ten countries worldwide are already conducting trials based on this technology, and there are more than 30 actual e-AI use cases underway. Renesas has now developed a new RZ/A2M MPU to expand the use of e-AI solutions to high end appl...
Speeding global LTE IoT connectivity development
Supplier of advanced semiconductor solutions, Renesas Electronics, has announced the Renesas Synergy AE-CLOUD2 kit, a complete hardware and software reference design that allows embedded developers to quickly evaluate cellular connectivity options and build Low Power Wide Area (LPWA) cellular Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
Renesas buys IDT for $6.7bn
Renesas is buying Integrated Device Technology for $6.7bn. The boards of directors of both companies have unanimously approved the transaction. Closing of the transaction is expected to occur in the first half of 2019, following approvals by IDT shareholders and the relevant regulatory authorities.
