Versatile 5G test system targets 28GHz
A millimetre-wave test system, initially targeted at 28GHz, for characterising the RF performance of prototype high-frequency components and systems for 5G has been released by AceAxis. The Millimetre-Wave 5G Test System significantly extends the capability of the existing AceAxis 4G modular test system.
Testing products comply with EMC Standard IEC 60601-1-2
CETECOM has expanded its service portfolio for testing and certification of medical technology products. After a successful audit by the ZLG (Zentralstelle der Länder für Gesundheitsschutz), CETECOM is now offering test services for the fourth edition of the EMC-Directive IEC 60601-1-2.The tests according to the EMC standard IEC 60601-1-2, 4thedition are compulsory from 31st December 2017.
RF communications system cuts the cost of IoT test
The KT-RFCT 2400 Gen II – an RF communications test system from Konrad Technologies is designed with convenience in mind. The low price point creates a cost effective means for testing wireless communication units, while generating a favourable cost to performance ratio. The test system has a small footprint, integrating seamlessly into test system infrastructures via a single Ethernet connection. GPIOs can control the DUT and peripherals.
28nm DAC sets benchmark for next wave wideband software defined systems
Analog Devices has introduced a 28-nanometer D/A converter as part of a new series of high speed digital-to-analog converters (D/A converters). The AD9172 meets the demands of gigahertz bandwidth applications and delivers the increased spectral efficiency needed for 4G/5G multi-band wireless communications base stations and 2 GHz E-band microwave point-to-point backhaul platforms. Its design also benefits production instrumentation targeting mult...
Oscilloscope makes debut at PCIM in Nuremberg
One of the highlights at the Rohde & Schwarz booth at PCIM 2017 in Nuremberg (May 16-18) will be the new entry-level R&S RTB2000 oscilloscope for education, R&D and production. Starting at EUR 1,250, the R&S RTB2000 offers functionality previously available only in oscilloscopes with a significantly higher price tag. It is the first in its class with a 10-bit vertical resolution and 10 MSample per channel acquisition memory.
New converter series sets performance benchmarks
A new series of high speed analogue-to-digital converters (A/D converters) have been introduced by Analog Devices, and as part of this series the company has released the AD9208, which has been engineered for gigahertz-bandwidth applications. This A/D converter meets the increased spectral efficiency demands of 4G/5G multi-band wireless communications base stations. It also meets the reduced run-time targets of multi-standard production instrumenta...
PXI switching solutions feature at IMS 2017
A broad catalogue of PXI and Ethernet LXI RF & Microwave switching solutions will be displayed by Pickering Interfaces IEEE MTT-S 2017 International Microwave Symposium (IMS) (June 6 – 9). Pickering’s RF & Microwave Switching solutions range from low-level DC signals to RF and Microwave.
USB VNA offers 6GHz performance for 40 per cent less
There is a new player in the vector network analyser market. Tektronix has entered the fray with the TTR500 Series USB Vector Network Analyser (VNA), and it reckons it has spotted receptive audiences – Internet of Things (IoT) designers and education. “They are not RF specialists, but they do have a need to measure interference,” says Dean Miles EMEA Marketing Manager at Tektronix. “What they don’t want to do is pay ...
High power RF switch family suits wireless applications
CEL has announced the availability of CEL CG2409 family of high power RF switches.RF switches are microwave devices that route high frequency signals through transmission paths and can be used for diverse range of applications including WLAN, Mobile Communications, Wireless Security, Wireless Home Automation, Digital TV and many other RF products. The CG2409 is available in two packages X3 and M2.
Connector simplifies PCB layout
Hirose has developed a serial digital interface (SDI) compliant connector that supports high transmission speeds up to 12Gbps. The miniature BNC75 Series radio frequency (RF) connector features an optimized centre contact design that simplifies PCB layout and supports SMT processing, decreasing labour and assembly time.
