Strain gauges target transducer manufacturers
To address the growing demand for the sensors needed to manufacture precision transducers, Micro-Measurements has released a series of products built using its Advanced Sensors strain gauge technology. The strain gauges offer a tighter resistance tolerance, improved gauge-to-gauge repeatability and better stability than standard strain gauges, while their advanced fabrication process helps to significantly reduce lead times.
Putting the head in the cloud
The development of wireless vibration sensors is enabling a shift towards cloud-based predictive maintenance. By Bob Scannell, Analog Devices.
Rogowski current probes target next-gen power semiconductors
From Hall 7, Stand 122 at PCIM, Power Electronic Measurements will be showing its full range of Rogowski technology based wide-bandwidth current probes. These include the CWT Ultra-mini with a 1.7mm thick coil small enough to fit between the legs of a TO-220 device, the CWT with coil lengths from 300mm to over 1m for measuring currents in applications as diverse as lightning strikes to leakage currents in machine shafts.
Enerpac Takes the Load for Lamprell Jack-Up Rig
Enerpac, with its official distributor Al Masaood Trading has supplied Lamprell with an EVO-Series Synchronous Lifting System to weigh a newly completed jack-up rig.
Hall-effect current-sensor ICs in high-isolation package
The ACS722 and ACS723 Hall-effect current sensor ICs from Allegro MicroSystems Europe are now available in a high-isolation SOIC16 package. The low-profile surface-mount package is ideal for space constrained applications while also saving costs due to reduced board area, yet provides a 4800 V RMS isolation rating: the highest available from Allegro’s family of surface-mount current sensor ICs.
A Mobile Logger For Sustainable Analyses
Beko Technologies have extended the METPOINT BDL graphic-display recorders series with a mobile variant for data logging in compressed-air and compressed-gas applications. The new METPOINT BDL portable will complete the stationary standard and compact versions of the successful measurement equipment series.
ZEMIC’s new OIML approved dual shear beam load cell added to Variohm EuroSensor range
Variohm EuroSensor has increased its range of high capacity load cells with the new HM9J series from its exclusive distribution partner ZEMIC. The OIML approved load cell has a rated capacity of 15T 20t and 30T for C2.5 accuracy and has been specially developed as a force sensor for train scales and weighbridge use. Its IP68 protection class and hermetically sealed nickel plated alloy steel construction provides maximum durability for harsh outdo...
Low power conversion for energy harvesting
Harnessing tiny amounts of ambient energy from sustainable sources works well in theory, but are there any practical solutions to achieving it? By Tony Armstrong, Director of Product Marketing, Linear Technology.
Interfaces that touch you back
The industry is working on a multitude of different haptic effects for tomorrow’s touch screens and buttons, writes Sally Ward-Foxton for ES Design magazine.
Magnetically coupled inductive components save weight & cost
SMP Sintermetalle Prometheus has expanded its portfolio of inductive components with the development and design of magnetically coupled components. SMP will present this development at PCIM 2015 in Nuremberg, Germany, 19th to 21st May 2015.
