Power Entry Modules suitable for use in audio and video equipment
Schaffner has had their FN 9280 and FN 9290 families of market-leading high-end IEC Power Entry Modules (PEM) approved to IEC62368-1.Certification to IEC62368-1 enables customers manufacturing Audio/Video, Information and Communications Technology equipment to comply more easily with the requirements of the new technology-independent ‘hazard-based’ standards approach.
EMC filter for single phase applications receives DC approval
A new seriesof single-phase filters has been announced bySchaffner. The new high performance filters are an extension to the standard variants of the FN 2070 series and are designed to meet the highest performance demands for single phase filters.
A new generation of active harmonic filters
Schaffner hasannounced the introduction of theeco sine active sync, a new generation of active harmonic filters. Drawing on the company’s knowledge and experience of applications and solutions in power quality the new modular ecosine active sync series offers best-fit technical and cost effective solutions for the most demanding harmonic mitigation tasks and is suitable for use with any kind of non-linear load.
Power products unveiled at SPS IPC Drives 2017
At this year'sSPS IPC Drives trade fair in Nuremberg, Germany on the 28th to 30th November, Schaffnerwill be exhibitingand introducing product innovations from its EMC, power quality and power magnetics divisions.
Biocompatible ink for 3D printing makes use of living bacteria
A group of ETH researchers led by Professor André Studart, Head of the Laboratory for Complex Materials, has now introduced a 3D printing platform that works using living matter. The researchers developed a bacteria-containing ink that makes it possible to print mini biochemical factories with certain properties, depending on which species of bacteria the scientists put in the ink.
What’s driving EMC in EV-Charging?
It’s not just plugging a connector in to your car and letting it charge. Here Holger Urban, Product Marketing Manager, Schaffner International AG discusses more. With the increasing demand of EV charging installations the International Electrotehnical Commission (IEC) is defining global standards which involve among other important aspects of EMC regulations and safety considerations.
Lockable IEC socket features space saving design
Schaffnerhas extended its range of IEC lockable outlets with the introduction of a new multi-tier version available with either four or six outlets. The integral locking system improves the reliability of electronic systems exposed to vibration or traction.
EMC filters for single phase applications
Schaffner has introduced three new series of single-phase filters. The three new high performance filters are an extension to the standard variants of the FN 2010, FN 2030 and FN 2090 series. They are designed to meet the highest performance demands for single phase filters.
Filters extend service life and reduce energy costs
Schaffner has introduced an IP20 enclosed version of its ecosine evo range of compact modular passive harmonics filters, which are designed to meet the most demanding of harmonic mitigation tasks. This new generation of filters guarantees compliance with the toughest requirements of IEEE-519 and other stringent international power quality standards.
New generation of passive harmonic filters are robust and reliable
A new benchmark is being set with Schaffner’s product offering of harmonics mitigation solutions.Ecosine evo harmonic filters utilise technology to reliably control excessive power line harmonics with an evolutionary modular product concept.
