Surtech Distribution launches own brand Power Distribution Units to fit any type of rack or enclosure
Surtech Distribution has announced the launch of its own brand power distribution units (PDUs) for mains power distribution in free-standing or bayed racking systems or enclosures. The PDUs are aimed at applications requiring controlled power distribution for the datacommunications, telecommunications and electronics markets and provide a highly-attractive and cost-effective solution where space is limited and cable management techniques are used...
1U 2kVA pure sine wave inverter from Schaefer
Schaefer's range of pure sine wave inverter products now includes what is said to be the only 2KVA product in the market that is packaged in a slim, 1U rackmount design. Highly efficient and reliable, the pure sine wave output of the AEP-A2000R Series offers benefits over modified or quasi-sine wave units by delivering “clean” output power for powering sensitive loads and for improving AC equipment performance.
3KVA Rackmount Inverter Boasts Industry Leading Power Density in 1U Package
Schaefer’s AEP-A3000R Series of highly efficient, pure sign wave inverters provide 3KVA of power in a compact 1U rack design and is available in standard input configurations of 24VDC and 48VDC. Outputs are regulated to +/-3% or better. A built-in, 4-6ms automatic bypass switch allows for redundant operation from utility power if the DC supply drops out. In UPS mode, the AC input is not needed for standard inverter operation.
Multi-channel optical switches with only 1.5dB insertion loss
Now available from DT Electronics, OKI’s mechanical multi-channel optical switches incorporate micro-optics technology to achieve a maximum of 1.5dB insertion loss, thus eliminating the need for an optical amplifier.
Retrofit modular cold aisle/hot aisle system fits non-uniform height bayed racks
The benefits of reduced energy consumption and improved performance by adding cold aisles to rows of data centre servers are well know, but if the cabinets in the row are, as is often the case, of different heights, retrofit implementation has previously been difficult, requiring custom components. Schroff UK, one of Europe’s leading suppliers of datacoms infrastructure hardware, has developed a simple low cost modular system of standard compon...
Cost-effective big-time cooling with new fan from Aerco
The AK28089 is a new AC fan from ADDA, available in the UK from Aerco, that is ideal for cost-effective cooling of large cabinets, racks and enclosures.
Power System Modules for Reliable Energy Management from Rittal
Rittal’s Power System Modules (PSM) provide revolutionary energy management for existing IT racks and data centres via plug-in modules that simply snap into position within the rack matrix. Each PSM permits energy supply through a vertical rail with a three-phase feed; each phase is rated at 16A and each strip is capable of supplying 96A.
Rittal - Plug-in modules for PSM rails
Rittal has extended its Power System Module (PSM) range to allow the power consumption of individual servers and peripheral hardware to be measured per socket. New plug-in modules for PSM rails record the individual currents for each socket and show the power consumption of the devices connected via three coloured LEDs on the right-hand side. A second LED on the left-hand side of the outgoing slots provides an overview of the overall power of the...
Need more protection from EMC than you first imagined?
Have you ever designed a piece of kit which let you down, by being susceptible to EMC, when you didn’t think it ought to be? Rittal has the answer with the Ripac Vario subrack for mounting multiple board electronic solutions in 19” (482.6mm) racks, as the range is easily upgraded from standard to EMC after it has been completed. This will provide over 40dB of shielding effectiveness at 1GHz, both for incoming and outgoing protection.
Tekdata fulfils exacting Eurofighter Typhoon test project
Tekdata Interconnections has completed delivery of 10 test benches supporting Spain’s Eurofighter Typhoon programme, meeting a demanding design and assembly schedule that required the project to be completed within one year. The test benches form part of a suite used to test and integrate the entire avionics fitment for each aircraft before installation and ongoing diagnostics.
