Smartphones enable Gesture Control
Berner & Mattner have presented a study on the subject of Human Machine Interface: ‘Smart Multi-Axis Control’ implements control of a multi-axis grabbing arm using intuitive gestures made on a commercially available smartphone. The smartphone’s sensors transmit movement data to the MESSINA real-time platform using a Java server. This data is then instantly converted into control commands for the robotic grabbing arm.
DDC announce high-performance 3-phase DC motor torque controller
Data Device Corporation has today announced a new 3-Phase DC motor torque controller. The PW-82530N0 is a high performance and low cost torque loop controller designed to precisely regulate the current in the motor windings of 3-phase brushless DC motors. The controller provides complementary four-quadrant operation making it ideal for applications requiring precise current regulation and/or holding torque at zero input command.
World’s first integrated industrial 6-axis MEMS SoC
InvenSense unveil a family of 6 Industrial MotionTracking solutions including 3-axis gyroscopes and integrated 6-axis gyroscopes plus accelerometers. With the introduction of ITG-31N1/N2/N3 and MPU-61N1/N2/N3 devices for Industrial markets, InvenSense is now providing the same level of high performance and reliability for these markets, that it is known for in the consumer market.
SMT Flat Coil Planar Transformers produces 500W Power Capability
Pulse Electronics introduce a new series of low-loss, flat coil surface mount planar transformers to deliver high efficiency power to applications with tight height constraints. This technology uses a copper fill factor that is twice that of a PCB so the direct current resistance of the primary winding is reduced by 50% and the power rating is increased by 20% to deliver up to 500 watts of power capability. Replacing the traditional multilayer PC...
SICK OD Mini – the Ultimate ‘Lightweight’ for High-Speed, Precision and Accuracy
